Carlton cared about Gibbs, we valued him worth two first round draft picks. In 2016 you did not want to give them, but in 2017 you did. Gibbs publicly stated he was happy to stay, but preferred to go home; in the end he got his wish.
except gibbs then came out and said publicly that he is more than happy to stay at carlton for another year :) lets just see if MM says the same if a trade doesnt happen

Lol of course Gibbs said this after he was forced to stay, thanks hungry hungry sos. Gibbs wouldnt come out and say he hated your club and that sos was a campaigner, even if it was secretly true.

SOS will walk away if need be, he has done it before to Adelaide.

Let it be known very clearly, Carlton Football Club are not desperate to trade for Mitch McGovern. Rather it is McGovern himself who is wanting out of the Adelaide Football Club.
Let it also be known he is a contracted player, SOS already set the price for the player that wants out.....I think I can hear a bus.

Hope this matter is resolved to all parties mutual satisfacion. Its counterproductive to keep an unhappy player on one's list.
Gibbs played with dignity in his last year with you despite wanting to be at the Crows.

Gov gets on well with Pyke & his teammates, so won't be an issue.

Thanks for your concern though.

Seem to be a lot of mental health experts concerned about players’ wellbeing around here... oddly enough they all seem to support the same team  kindly do us all a favour and take your fake concern and pointless bravado somewhere it might be more appreciated (hint: not here)

If a deal doesn’t get done, McGovern will be more pissed off with Carlton than Adelaide. They’ve strung him along all year. Time to pay the piper now Carlton, or **** off.

Exactly.

We are happy to make you one of our highest paid players - much more than your current contracted $550K pa ... but we don't want to pony up for the trade. Won't go down well with his manager...

Then we go to the AFL since Carlton clearly had no interest in trading for a contracted player

All standard player contracts would be straight forward and identical apart from any special additions or amendments.
However does Mitch have valid reasons to breach his contract should it be necessary, due to negligence or dereliction of duty and care by his club?
We’re not privy to the facts, but obviously something is brewing, player is disillusioned and wants out.

Nah, he got offered a bucketful of dough not long after he signed on. Carlton has been in his ear and that of his manager for more than a year. This is about money, nothing else. Money for MM and money for his manager. I hope this gets outed and Carltank gets deregistered.

If so many players want out of Sydney, the Crows should try and get Will Hayward back for Gov. While Gov wont go to Sydney, if the compo is enough for Sydney then do a three way with us getting Will.
Massive Crows fan, would suit our needs well.
Yes yes yes wouldn’t be easy and he’s not a cap relief if he leaves so would be tough

Great thinking though

If Gov is so keen to get out and let’s presume he is - he will have at least 6 suitors across the league and given his desperation he will be happy to get to any of them meaning crows take the best deal which in a competitive bidding process will be quite handsome for us

If he’s not that desperate - great , he helps us the next 2 years as we could do with him

Assuming Carlton get pick 12 as a PP

Carlton give Pick 12, 24 and 25 to St Kilda for pick 3

Carlton then give Pick 3 to Adelaide for McGovern and pick 21

Then pick 24 ad 25 to Sydney for Hannebery

Just goes to show how little you actually know about mitch... he barely ever speaks to the media at all.. if a deal doesnt get done id have my money on gov saying sweet **** all and playing on at adelaide next year with little fuss.
