Yes, however he spent an extra 12 months at Carlton he didn't really need to ..You ended up valuing him at pick 7 btw. Take into account point value for all the picks included.

Perhaps have a listen to Hamish and Justin from a few weeks ago?Reality is it all depends on how desperately you want one of those SA boys. With the GC looking pretty set on taking pick 2&3 to the draft (now they can pick 3 mature players which most of us thought was a smart idea) and Carlton not budging (at this stage) on pick 1 if we really want a high pick SA boy we must have pick 4 otherwise we simply take best available when our picks come around. This is where the club saying they want Luk and are prepared to make it happen will now look stupid. Unless those boys can convince the GC not to pick them because they will want out in 2 years (and I dont believe that will happen) we will miss the two prime candidates. Pity.
Just out of curiosity do you think Carlton would consider giving up pick 1 if it provided the currency for instance to get McGovern, Shiel (who if the news is correct is likely to go to Carlton) and say Setterfield? Seems to me like to secure all 3 of those players giving up pick 1 would be probably worth it. Not saying I value McGovern at 1 or even top 10 just that we do have 3 pretty high picks that could allow you to get a hold of the other targets potentially? Just a thought, guess it depends how bad the club wants another crack at the draft. We can allocate what we feel is a fair value. Of course so can you. But there will need to be middle ground. I doubt you’ll be getting what you all on here believe to fair coz no club is paying a top 10 pick for him. And I doubt he will be playing with you guys in 2019. Look at the Jake stringer deal for comparison. And he’s no name atringer either. So expect an early second or maybe 2 mid seconds at best.

I think the club values Sam Walsh higher than both in the long run. But if they can manage all three while using future first, 2 seconds and somehow including the pre draft selection(S). They also have setterfield in discussions toobut is tossing up between Essendon and us. Once one domino falls they could all fall into line. IMHO I’d prefer to leave McGovern and bring in Shane McAdam. He’d be cheaper and fill a need for us while we could more than likely already have a McGovern on our list in Pat Kerr.Just out of curiosity do you think Carlton would consider giving up pick 1 if it provided the currency for instance to get McGovern, Shiel (who if the news is correct is likely to go to Carlton) and say Setterfield? I still think you under paid for Gibbs. We should not have needed to give you our second round pick. Gibbs for 7 and 19 would of then been the price in points system. Just paying 7 was not enough. We’ve been underpaid a lot lately. Tuohy, Garlett, Jacobs.“But there will need to be middle ground”
Ah.... no, no there does fukin not need to be a “middle ground at all”.. adelaide don’t have to sell so any buyer will need to go past the “middle ground” if they want to get a deal done.
SOS knows this better than anyone... Carlton fans should know it... actually, they do know it but they are either fukin stupid or playing dumb.
Fair call, next years first prob still carries a fair bit of weight for trade, particularly maybe for Shiel as I'm sure GWS are going to say this years #1 as their first demand (won't get it, just what they'll want). I'm not in the camp you'll need to pay through the teeth for McGovern eg top 10 or above but I do think you'll need to come up with a pick in the 12-16 range to get it done which may pose tricky based on what you currently have - not impossible by any means just if they really want him they'll probably have to get a bit creative to make it happen. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out as it sounds like it's going to be one of the most active trade periods ever which will certainly make things easier as picks and players will be flying around all over the place.I think the club values Sam Walsh higher than both in the long run. I hope that you don’t take offence to this (not trolling)
He is a modern day Riddler. What do you mean ? .....can you ever just talk plain language

?The points system is only valid for F/S and Academy
Thins not as thick as some. This is so dumb it isn't funny anymore.
Doesn't matter what you think friendo. Your club rates the lad enough to try and prise him out of a contract 2 years early.
That isn't a blues fact that's an actual fact.
If your club couldn't come to the table at all, and your psuedo-valuation is insultingly far from the table btw, they wouldnt have started the conversation.
How many times do you need to be told. Honestly.
TooBlue saying they are going to get Shiel,McGovern and Setterfield by selling next years picks?
I don't get it

There are options. Shiel for future first with their second coming back. The mcadam pick for a late second. Gives us four seconds. At best. At worst 3 seconds and a third. We could use this for the father son/academy clubs that need picks. I.e. Dogs (Riley west and Buku Khamis - if they get wingard they’ll need our seconds), Sydney (Nick Blakey - should get picks via trades though), Collingwood (Isaac Quaynor, Will Kelly - after May and don’t have any picks after first, will need seconds if not more as IQ is rated top 20 or better). We could use that pick for McGovern. But in the end you could just take the 2 seconds and do the same.Fair call, next years first prob still carries a fair bit of weight for trade, particularly maybe for Shiel as I'm sure GWS are going to say this years #1 as their first demand (won't get it, just what they'll want). Watch closely you may learn something. SOS always gets what we want. The afl have asked everybody to calm down in regards to trade talk and drafting due to some important event happening on Saturday arvo. Just wait till Monday and the nominations come flooding in.TooBlue saying they are going to get Shiel,McGovern and Setterfield by selling next years picks

Have I got this right you're suggesting a contracted Shiel for a single future 1st pick with GWS's 2nd coming back to Carlton...you've gone full blown stupid. Piss off putting shit like that up, there's actually Adults on the Adelaide board. There are options. Shiel for future first with their second coming back. The mcadam pick for a late second. Adelaide would be wise to wait it out. I doubt Shiel goes to Carlton.
I mean more that he's chasing success. Why would anybody leave GWS's system to go to Carlton?Yeah, if he does it'll be for Carltons first this year, not next
