Yeh i must admit i had a laugh when i wrote PRESSURE POINT there just isnt much in the department for Blues

Nah, nobody hates North....Some of the fans, especially on BF are obnoxious and we might wish the club ill to spite them, but the club itself just brings indifference.

Beating North is like dancing with your sister. There's no real joy in it.

I have nothing but respect for West Coast. Professionally run club, and invariably thereabouts at the pointy end of the season. No hate at all from most Victorians afaict. Personally, I'd rather have that respect than the hate.

You're a big club, sixteen flags (including VFL) with a huge supporter base. I know more Essendon supporters here in WA than even Freo supporters. Sometimes success is not just recent premierships. You had a huge scandal a few years ago that would have ruined all but the biggest clubs, and you survived. Like I said, I'd rather be hated than be pitied. Hate is a form of respect. There needs to be a reason for hate. You dont want to be a Melbourne or a St Kilda, where the neutrals only like you because you're a small club with a small supporter base whose not won a flag for decades on end.

Most Eagles supporters wouldn't say that they "hate" Freo. They're the unsuccessful younger brother. So theirs rivalry and you don't want to get beaten by them, but mostly they're just sad and pitiful. Definitely some hatred/resentment going the other way though about the perceived favouritism, slights, disrespect etc.

I would say this generalisation is why Freo fans hate the eagles.
