It's a fumble. Not a Tambling over Franklin level fumble, but still not ideal. Even if Knobel's career doesn't end up going anywhere, to sink 2 seasons of resources into a promising ruck only to have him snapped up before we can re-rookie him is poor from everyone involved.

Bog average back up rucks are one of the easiest and cheapest positions to trade for if we get desperate. A handful of them move clubs every offseason.

No, there's a reason all of us who watch WAFL rate Knobel significantly higher than Reidy and why GC took him despite having 3 other genuine AFL rucks on the list. There is a decent chance Knobel COULD have been our first choice ruck in a few years. What if Darcy is forever injured and doesnt turn it around? Knobel gives you options.
