Got to acknowledge the recency bias in this poll and thread discussion....

Cripps has just won his second Brownlow in three years
Bont has just won his second consecutive AFLPA MVP
Neale has just won the Gary Ayres Award after winning last year's Brownlow

Meanwhile, Pendles is 36, and still getting his fair share of love.

In other words....

'I've got no case...'

What's the problem? Don't like it when someone else has a different opinion to you? You do realise that not everyone sings from the same songsheet as you and God help us if anyone dare not have a Collingwood player up the pecking order when they are ranked/assessed.

It's not surprising that a lot on here think you have a bad feel for the game and also poor at assessing ranking players.

Of course you have.

It hard to accept you've been proven (very) wrong....

Or it's a case of someone having a different opinion, which is something you consistently have a problem with. It's a reflection on you as a person that you're really not that good to debate with.

Pendlebury was, along with Swan and to some extent Travis Cloke, the driving force of a team who went 34-4 and 3 of those losses were to one side, and he did it averaging 30 touches and just under a goal, the sort of output that only Bontempelli has ever beaten goal-wise (never disposal wise).

Neale and Cripps have never been able to maintain it for more than a season and the other major areas like contested possessions etc are all marginal.

Claims like ‘Pendlebury didn’t ever have a high enough peak’ are revisionist.

The 2010 & 2011 seasons? He kicked 41 goals from 51 games and averaged 28 disposals per game. Not quite 30...but who cares.

Nice rants.

Have you got it all off your chest now?

When posters state 'Pendlebury didn't have a high enough ceiling', they're rightly saying 'he was never considered the best player in the competition' - and they are right.

The problem with that is, Pendlebury had GAJ and Judd ahead of him during his peak years - the two best midfielders we've seen since the turn of the century.

Bont's been regarded as the best player in the game for the past few seasons, but I don't feel he's had a single season where he's performed as unequivocally the outright best player in the competition. Cripps hasn't done that either, and Neale has done it once, in 2020.

You're a smart man Fudge... I'm sure you can figure it out 🤡
No, you tell me.

Because you're debating the statement 'Cripps had an average game in the Elimination Final'.

For a player who polled 45 Brownlow votes, to not be rated in the best 5 players on the ground by either coach would surely have to be considered an 'average game', right.

Come on, use your words....
