Are Freo allowed to wear an anchor design? I thought they agreed they wouldn't due to a legal claim from Levis over the use of the "Dockers" trademark?

That issue was run and done by the late 90's though wasn't it - and it more had to do with the logo featuring the term 'Dockers' so prominently. They wore the anchor jumper for the next 10 years so I doubt there would be any issue

Looks like this will be worn in round one, if you’re going to celebrate 25 years, a throwback would’ve been so much better
Would've been heaps better if the two was in green and the five in red.

White in the shape of an anchor.
I don't think that would be effective in this situation. The curves of the anchor wouldn't compliment the blockiness of the chevron numbers.

Clever design but a missed opportunity to throwback to the old Italy colours era

When I first looked at it, I thought the anchor was cleverly encorporated in the design. I mean, it kinda looks like it is there in the middle.

*Concept, not real*

Join the bottom of the 2 & 5 and widen the top. Take the green and red from between the ‘chevrons’ and make that space purple. You get an anchor, green and red that isn’t in your face and a clever negative space 25 chevron design... win-win!

It's a nicely designed logo and smart integration but it feels weird when we've worn the chevrons for only seven or eight seasons.

But 25 years of existence is weird anyway, we should do '25th season' etc. For a new side it just doesn't feel right. 125 years since you were established, 50 since a flag, that's all right. Feels weird here.

They missed a massive opportunity to connect to the fan base.
You're quite open about your disdain for the club and key people at the moment and I'm sure you're not the only one unhappy with the current progression.

The Anchor, while compared to the chevrons, is a silly design it encapsulates so much of the footy club.
The birth, the first heros, ups and downs and key moments.

So far the Chevrons signify a successful moment in your history (Brownlow, Grand-Final, the Lyon coup) but for many, many people it's the merchandise with the Anchor that they would look fondly on and a one off jumper to remind people of that history, to celebrate 25 years, to look into the future with doesn't seem that hard.

I don't know, I would think it would sell like mad and for a brief moment the fans would feel connected again - as opposed to running out in a jumper that has ever before existed.

The board must really believe the Chevrons are more important currently to the club, seems odd.

Eh not the weirdest. I think it was the Houston Texans in the NFL who celebrated 10 years since their founding, a bit odd but makes me think if GWS or GC will go that far to sell one-off merch.
We weren't immune to the cash grab;

My take on Fremantle: go for it, but I'd have preferred them to wear their original home and away jumpers in a couple of consecutive matches. Could then wear the new chevron 25 jumper in one other home game.
