This could genuinely be their 'forever set'. Which is a good thing for supporters and a bad thing for club merchandise departments.

I wonder if there's any appetite to modernise the Fitzroy Lion in future – it still looks so photocopied

I was gonna post that ridiculous jumper they had a few years ago but didn’t want to have to look at it again. Trust me, they tried that, and became the most failed idea in the history of the world.

Something simple like Acosta's Lion will probably be the greatest extend of change I could imagine

I was thinking just that. It's somewhat counter productive to produce a 'forever' set as sales would stagnate. However, this can be alleviated by nailing the 'one-off' or promotional kit. I would personally love to see a darker blue and maroon with white lion kit or even the Fitzroy monogram or Bears V and/or BB. The Indigenous/ANZAC rounds also provide ample opportunity to boost merchandise sales without making dramatic alterations to the home/away/clash set.

I've never understood opposition supporter's distaste for the Fitzroy lion. There is something very elegant and proud about the design which the overwhelming majority of Lions' supporters (including Bears and Fitzroy supporters) would rather keep in its current form. There's a reason we fought so strongly for its return.

find it odd that caltex are front and centre as a sponsor yet they've been rebranding most of their petrol stations to ampol for the last year.

Caltex, a global brand owned by Chevron, was previously used under an exclusive brand license in Australia. From this year, the Caltex brand is no longer exclusive and in 2023 will be solely used by Chevron. As part of this transition, you might notice some changes as we commence rebranding selected Puma sites to Caltex and opening new Caltex service stations. The national rebranding program will continue through 2023.
