Am I the only one thinking that Bassett is a younger version of Phil?

Tough, demands respect, quirky, and sees the game a little differently than most.
I don't know, but I'm a big wrap for Bass, just think he is a realist coach who has proven he can coach his own team. Plus he knows how the AFC and SA work

Woosha did admit that he and Sumich headhunted Phil to devise a game plan to take them from one on one to a newer style game plan as fast as possible.

That's true, but he'd already won a premiership as a coach before that happened.

Brings me back to my earlier question. Is Bass even eligible?

Has the AFL introduced the Level 4 AFL Award Course as a mandatory requirement for senior coaching appointments yet?

I remember there was talk when Walshy and Beveridge were appointed that they could be the last to get through without Level 4 certification.

If it has indeed come through, or is adopted as a prerequisite before we select Walsh's successor, it could be bad news for Bass.

The first Level 4 applicants from the March intake this year are:

Brendon Bolton
Stuart Dew
Matthew Nicks
Simon Goodwin
John Barker
Blake Caracella
Robert Harvey
Adam Kingsley
Simon Lloyd

Bassett and Rutten were both invited to be a part of that intake but declined at the time is what I understood.
