There are not too many teams around which have 4 very athetic 200cm ruck type players. We have Warnock, Kruezer, Hampson & O'hAlipin. Jacobs has the potential to be good ruckman but he is slow and not as mobile as the other three.
Now, we have a window of opportunity to test the opposition with height & pace by playing the 4 in the one team. Sounds a bit much maybe, but consider this. Warnock in the ruck, Kruezer in the forward half, Hampson interchanging and O'hAlipin down back.....now wait on.
Warnock could play almost all day as he doesn't always have to get to the contests down back of forward because Kruezer & O'hAlipin can pinch hit in those areas when it suits. The opposing ruck team would be rucking against different rucks throughout the day and I think this will test any opposing team. Sure I know we would prefer Setanta in the foward half and he may be a better player there but for team balance and to test the opposition I think he may suit the team better down back.
In the past having 4 big ruck types in the one team was cconsidered inpractical , but when each of them has almost as much pace as a midfielder we should exploit the situation.:D

Oh absolutely.

I reckon.....

Hoops to FF
Judd to the ruck (I mean, what can't he do?! Might as well...)
Hampson to FB
Warnock as ruck rover.
Fev to CHB
Murphy as CHF
Kreuzer to forward pocket
O'hailpin, midfielder
Eddie to the wing
etc...

Can't fail :D:thumbsu:

Pace? Yes.
Endurance - Kreuzer and Setanta yes. Hampson no, Warnock at his best but not right now.
Skill - Kreuzer yes, Hampson no, Warnock unknown and Setanta 50/50.

You may well get your wish, but not the lineup you are predicitng.

O'hAilpin is now set to make his name as a CHF or he will struggle to find a position. Jamison, Bower and Waite are covering down back, with Austin looking very comfortable at senior level.

Kreuzer will play a Richo role eventually. Pushing forwards and back but doing his best work between the 50's. May even play C sq as a mid at times due to his ball winning ability at ground level - ala J Brown/Pav style.

With this set-up we may well see Warnock and Hampson rotate the ruck, but I'd be surprised if the MC didn't look at only having Warnock OR Hampson and Kreuzer to chop out, and play the extra small midfielder with the way rotations go these days.

The OP isn't quite as crazy as it seemed on first reading, but as HBF has pointed out before, just playing Kreuzer forward would be a massive waste of his talents (ala Deledio as a leading forward :eek:).

Yeh last time i checked Jacobs, completed the 100 in 11 sec flat!!!

Warnock=unproven at this stage 21 games
Jacobs= unproven old stle Ruckman/
Hampson= A kid who comes from a a non footballing backgorund trying to make it. At best will be average in my view.
olhaplin= Not a ruckman
Kreuzer= Young with the most upside.FUTURE champion . Emphasis on the word future.

Like your creativity in thought though!:rolleyes:

At last, someone who at least read the entire post and provided an adult reply. I don't expect everyone to agree, but some of the "childrens" comments just ridicule the post without putting forward any reasonable arguement.
Then again, on the BF site the children always just "snipe" at each other and anyone else they think might have a real "thought" on a footy matter.:(

It'll happen provided they all have good preseason.

O'hailpin will play CHF, and the other three will rotate between the ruck, forward line, and the bench.

For the first 3 weeks of the season we will be unstoppable, and Wayne Hughes will be treated like a king.

Then two of them will develop long term injuries of the type that always befall ruckmen, and we'll spend the rest of the season making do with Krezuer and one other like this year.
