New Orleans Saints.
Saints in everything - AFL, NFL, EPL and before they moved to Utah the Jazz were the Saints also.
Going to be a rubbish season for us but we had our chances of late.

I'm the same because Saints.
Call me a sucker for historically unsuccessful teams.

Funny you say that mate. I read something years ago that global sporting clubs with the saints moniker are statistically the worst performing of all time. I wish I could remember or find the source but it was back in high school.

Doesn't surprise me. The AFL Saints with one AFL premiership coincidentally the year the New Orleans Saints were formed. The NFL Saints with one superbowl title.
The EPL Saints with 1 FA cup win and not much else of note.

Jumped on the Saints bandwagon in 2009 and took a glorious sickie to watch us salute that season in 2010. Only Saints flag I’ve been able to witness, better not be the last.

Cracking win today.

Aside from the Packers and 49ers there's not many others that are a chance to win it from the NFC I don't think. I'm interested to see how the Browns do as well.

I think the Bills are in the window now, Josh Allen is a stud and my pick for MVP.
Coming a bit late to this party, but my NOLA Saints might have a bigger say in this after disposing of the Packers (who doesn't love a great overreact to Round 1).

Jameis did everything we could have asked and definitely showed the poise and patience that was a hallmark of Brees, and something that he has continually discussed with media when asked of the affect Drew has had on his game.

We also had a second string secondary and WR corps, and lost our starting C in the first snap of the game, so we didn't have it all our own way (Hurricane Ida, neutral venue for a home game, mainly Green Bay crowd, etc.)

Very excited for what the season holds now, even to see if Jameis can back it up. In a funny sort of way, the pressure is off!

Haha, Fox played Down Under by Men at Work on their coverage as they went to an ad break - probably a nod to Siposs and Mailata who was a former rugby player from Sydney.

I know Atlanta aren't a great side so I'm not sure how much I can take from the performance but we were just about as good as we could've been today. 32-6 victory on the road. Need to clean up the penalties but Jalen Hurts quelled some of my pessimism about the season he'd have and he's off to a terrific start, finished with 27/35 for 264 yards and 3 touchdowns along with 62 yards on the ground.

Our first pick Devonta Smith was impressive too, 6 catches for 71 yards and a touchdown (on his first career catch!), and the defense was immense - only 3 sacks but put Matt Ryan under a tonne of pressure.

Huge challenge next week at home against San Francisco. So glad the NFL is back - love the entire day of games. Crowds back gives it so much more too.
Just on Devonta, I watched the College Championship last year and he was on another planet! Not a whole lot of him, but he was just so lythe, nimble and seriously quick that noone had an answer for him. You have a baller!

Defense was huge, Offence didn’t flop, NFC already looks 10 times harder/better viewing than the AFC. Going early but the SB victor will be out of the NFC again

The Jazz were never the Saints.
The name Jazz came from New Orleans. Two teams called the New Orelans Saints would have been confusing.

Name change?

How strong a division is the NFC West. Arizona Cardinals put in the performance of the week , IMO. Kyler Murray is a star. The Seahawks thumped a Colts team that had 11 wins last year , away from home. The Rams also had a big big win with Stafford and his big arm now aboard. The 49ers also won , and they are Uber talented , on both sides of the ball , except the strength of their quarterback room , which probably makes them the weakest side in this division , and they are still a Super Bowl fancy. The winner of the Super Bowl will be either the Chiefs , the Bills , or one of the NFC West’s 4 teams.

Didn’t flop?
5 TDs.... definitely not a flop.
Some had low expectations but not me.
Really like Winston. Liked him at the bucs although he had a bad habit of trying to make something out of nothing, leading to interceptions.
Learnt caution under Payton and brees and just played the best game of his career.

Go Saints!!
Will be in the playoffs again. And with a great D and more firepower than we had under brees last few years. Winston slinging 50y TDs!

Missed the start of this thread but I’ll be checking in.
Will be getting behind Sippa at philly.

Chiefs, Bills the teams to beat AFC. Chiefs hot favourites.

A lot harder in NFC with Saints, seahawks, 9ers, bucs🤢 all around the mark.
Think the Rams would have been a legit threat with Stafford but struggling at RB losing Akers.

If I had to put the house on one team for the sb it would be KC without hesitation, mahomes is the man and they improved in the off-season. Jameis Winston can a leopard change its spots, imo no I watched him at Florida and the bucs he’s a turnover machine. One very good game changes nothing the packers didn’t turn up no pressure at all and Rodgers at 38 is kidding coming off no off season.

Yawkey way
The wake up call of being dumped by Tampa.
A year under Brees.
Working now with Payton one of the best QB coaches.
Also had laser eye surgery after he left the bucs.
That’s interesting and I hope he makes it but I’ll get on board and become a believer when he’s doing it week in week out against good defences, bucs game will be very interesting. I always liked him, he was very entertaining at Florida with O’Leary and a star studded team. Now there’s a hard luck story, guy coming off a massive college career a bit short and a half yard two slow but I still thought he’d make it. He was making rosters going ok then a heart attack at 27 with one artery 100% blocked, makes me wonder how that was missed given he would have had several physicals.

Kyler Murray is the shrimp moose off bugs bunny he’s listed at 178 but that must be in his girlfriend’s heals. He had a good game and chandler Jones was sensational but I don’t see the cardinals making the playoffs. The rams with Matthew stafford looked great, Seattle have improved and have Wilson at QB, don’t know about the 49ers it’s all down to jimmy g and trey lance.
