Under the conditions North v Macleod was a good game of footy. Macleod got the jump with the wind advantage but Doggies went with them from late in first quarter & with wind in last qtr were too strong in the end. Macleod were more than ok & at times were sharp but Dogs held up well & once adjusted to tempo of Div 1 footy showed what they are capable of.

Hurstbridge got pumped at home. Not a good start

Whats going to happen in two year time???

I suppose it was good while it last/lasted!!!!!

Cameron Cloke gets knocked out at the 16:20 mark of the 3rd quarter and goes into a fit. He then starts on the ground in the last quarter.

Thoughts?

Wow. Just watched the footage. What the hell were they thinking allowing him to go back on. Wouldn't be suprised if the league gives them a call. Not to mention the game was over so going back on would and did achieve nothing.

At the moment no

Heard some fairly reliable mail that he will play this year. Has a PT business that, due to some personal circumstances, he has had to be a lot more involved/working more hours in than previously meaning his availability for footy was basically shot. What I heard was that he was sorting it out to make himself available to train and play.

Surely the $$$ he would be getting would compensate for a few PT clients on a Saturday morning! Lol

New to all this points jazz and how it works.... so bare with me on these few I have....

Is an ex AFL player regardless if they never played a senior AFL game classified as a 6 pointer if he didn’t play juniors at your club first year back at local?

Is 6 points the max? I remember discussion around Patrick Vezpremi in the EDFL moved clubs a year back into local which would have made him a 7 pointer but 6 is max I believe? Playing against your old club incurs an extra point too correct?

Last question, if he played only state level is it the same classification for NEAFL and WAFL as it is VFL?

If they've played AFL in the previous 3 years they are considered 6 points. Every year you play at that club after that you lose a point. VFL, SANFL and WAFL are considered 'State League Players', which are worth 5 points, NEAFL & TASFL are considered 'Tier 2 State Leage Players', which are worth 4 points.

Out of curiosity, just went through the 1st division sides this week. The rule needs some tweaking when young blokes coming from division 3 clubs are considered 4 and 3 points (Potter and Steele at Mont).

Potter may have played TAC Cup in the previous 3 seasons/been in his clubs Top 5 BnF? 3 points is pretty standard for any senior community player - i.e someone that's been a regular senior player at another club prior.
