Very disappointed that the NFL didn't run a live update on their social media pages like a number of other leagues. Not that hard to update facebook every couple of mins in the count.

On a lighter note, I've just been told that Bronik Davies and Matt Dennis were joint winners of the Frank Rosbrook Medal.

I've seen a lot of Matt Dennis this year and last and I have not seen a footballer like him. No surprise he got the chocolates.

Mentioned in the local paper that Macleod have a recently retired AFL player as a favourite to announce as coach for 2013. The Prez said they expected to make an announcement following the AFL GF. Anyone heard any info on who it might be? Underbelly,GWH???

Heidelberg vs Northcote Park - The Tigers and Cougars have split their meetings over the past two seasons as both strive to become the top beast in the jungle. In the pressure cooker of a grand final it may be the fresher and experienced Tigers that quell the charging Cougars who have had a couple of intense games over recent weeks.

Heidelberg vs Northcote Park. Without doubt the two most successful clubs, in terms of premierships over the past two decades, and now we have the experienced against the young guns. The Cougars have been the giant-killers during the finals and their enthusiasm may be just that bit too much for the older Tigers and give them a memorable premiership on the 10th anniversary of their last one.

I couldn't give the club a commitment this year due to work/family, thus, I am completely out of the loop with the goings on at Macleod. All I know is that Ratten pulled out of the Power job and may take up the Director of Coaching position to assist the impending appointment of Senior playing coach...

Heidelberg vs Northcote Park. Should be a ripper but think the experience of the Tiger is to much for the Cougars. The Cougar have had an intense month that might catch up to them as well.

Montmorency vs West Preston. Monty have been the best side all year but the Roosters who started off slow have been building a side ready for this. Close one, Mont going for back-to-back but having the break may play against them.

Under 19s.
Northcote Park vs Greensborough. Coach BT from Boro going for an amazing fourth straight premiership may just be out of reach here as the young Cougars have been the best team all yeah and deserve the Premiership.

GF a bit of an anti climax. NP just to slick for Heidelberg and ironically the cheapest spending club in the top 5 wins the flag. Also ironically the highest spending club in the top 5 has failed to pay a div 3 club money owed for use of there ground, despite numerous phone calls. Can't mention that club, because apparently a new rule was passed during the week by NFL forbidding any criticism of such club. Is it also true that the infamous FB page was created by a person that was a bit close to home for some at club not to be criticised or humiliated?

Can you be a bit more specific AHM, has the NFL forbidden criticism of only one club and for what reason, or does this ruling cover all clubs

Club captain, former coach passes fitness test on Thursday. Obviously fitness test consisted of standing and rubbing tummy. Can't believe he would be picked at the expense of someone else. Couldn't move and Heidelberg played with 21 for the day. I understand he is a club legend but how could he possibly justify playing today!!!

What a day for the Cougars, U/19's grabbed the the 1st Flag for the day with an emphatic victory over Boro,

But the best was yet to come when the seniors put on a clinic against Heidelberg. You could not see a better display of suburban footy, precise use of the ball all over the ground and non stop run and spread from the young cougars.
So much for the thoughts that Parks would tire after a gruelling month of finals footy, well done to Heater and all the coaching staff for bringing the side to their absolute best on GF day.
Not sure if it is much solace to Mont but they were the only side to really challenge NP this September!

As I posted a page ago there was a photo of Lower's premiership and the page owner was referring to Lower as 'we'.

As for the game, Northcote Park were just too quick for Heidelberg. Played the wings very well and well deserved premiership winners.

I know there was a free kick paid to Northcote and therefore, this didn't count, but how funny was the Greensborough bloke in the 19s hitting the post in the goal square with not too much pressure? LOLs were to be had
