I
The player in question is a first year player to the club and if he has ever been reported I would be awfully surprised. Adam is as quiet as a church mouse and it would have been an accident, rather than a deliberate act. No one likes seeing anyone hurt on the field, but this is a complete witch hunt.
I think you'll find it's not so much a witch hunt for the player, as yes many people make mistakes and spare of the moment things happen,

But more so the fact NFL just let it slide by after obviously seeing the footage.

Don't understand how NFL cleared the player. Vision is clear. Contact made to head whilst trying to block - elbow raised. See below and make up your own mind...

Havent seen the 7 footage to challenge you on if there was an elbow involved. But what I do know is if north player had priors, North Heidelberg is the last club the nfl would be doing favours for. On that, you can't deny.
Player involved from North , new to club this year from South Australia, no prior tribunal history. Lower player and club went to media and sooked about contact that occurred Given all clear from NFL , Duckworth the sook got knocked out earlier in season against Lalor, his actions again ,his head hitting ground. Can't wait for the next game against the sooks .

You sound like your part of that old dinosaur culture of years gone by, which Nth Heid have worked hard to eradicate. Having watched the footage a few times now, I can't fathom why the league didn't at least refer to the tribunal for further scrutiny. Can't understand how anyone with an ounce of commonsense would stoop to your attitude.

I thought the same until I was told last night the umpire to the right of screen provided clear evidence that he saw the incident and thought there was nothing in it. If an umpire provide details like that how could the MRP press charges. I also believe LP was told (not !00% sure) that the umpire thought at best it was a free kick. Can anyone else confirm this?

Have heard the same thing, also heard the NFL have clearer vision of the contact that clears the north player, actually shows him trying to get out the way. Would be great if they released the footage if true would explain their actions of no case to answer

Seen the footage and the North player doesn't move off the line his running. It's a hard one as it looks like his got no chance of catching the player with the ball but the LP player runs hard at him to provide a shepherd so his kind of protected himself. However I agree if he hits him with a raised elbow or something his got to be in trouble but the footage doesn't show it well. Hope the LP player ended up ok as it's great to see players have the courage to provide a shepherd against a much bigger guy. If it was a fair hit and both players are fine (after the initial hit) then "play on" I say and well done to both players for not sidestepping the collision. In actual fact you hardly see this stuff any more.
I was talking to a player in the EDFL recently (not from Pacco who I follow) who is one of the better players and often gets tagged. He told me he was surprised in that there is less contact these days and opposition players will sometimes even pick you up and some are known to apologise for an minor accidents that might occur. Interesting!!

He might not of run off the line but he does launch with both feet off the ground. I looked at it frame by frame and that and the elbow is obvious. As to a previous comment re the umpire saying it was only a free kick, well if saw it as only a free he should be sacked. I'm pretty sure the match review only watch the video and don't solicitate witness statements. If they had bothered to err on the side of caution and send it to the tribunal, then a variety of witnesses could have been called, including umpires to get a just result. In speaking to a former league manager today, he is in agreeance that the MRP should of sent it to the the tribunal and the video was far more conclusive than the Fahour 3 week hit against Macleod. The only result so far has been the concussed player still unable to play, copping a fine for talking to media and Lower Plenty being sanctioned with a fine as well. Nice to see the league making sure their bank balance is looked after, even if player safety is not. Also heard that in the Ali Fahour v Dale Saddington case, that Saddington was denied a player advocate by the league to support him. No doubt him and Whittlesea will cop a fine as well for the media coverage.

I also watched the vision and in my opinion the lower plenty player makes a bee line to shepherd and the north player see's him late and tries to protect himself.
You can't tell if he's knocked out by the contact or if he hits the ground with his head.
But I did notice the north player look back to see the damage so maybe he did make contact but looking at the vision I wouldn't say it was a dirty act.

I understand that the NFL has media related rules in place. We have free speech in Australia and we live in a democratic country. Stop dictating against free speech NFL. This is 'community' football that you govern. If you don't do a good enough job of providing a safe environment then there will be a revolt against the board. Lead from the front NFL.

Tough times at Panton Hill. 2 points for the game is very ordinary and nearly lost by 200 points. Surprising they have fallen this far back given they have a couple former greensy guns running around plus some mid-tier players they recruited. Hopefully they can finish off the season in a positive way not good for anyone these kind of results.

"former greensy guns" - that comment is even more ridiculous than panton hill.

what a pathetic excuse of a football club.

Becomes a good draw when you can get Panton Hill 3 times. Will be the difference between a team finishing top 2 or top 4.

This is what happens when you have no under 19's and not many junior sides. Unless you have an unlimited supply of cash it eventually catches up to you. It may not happen overnight but it will happen.

DC get both PH and Lalor three times. NH and FS only get both these teams twice. Just makes it that little bit easier to lock that top two in

Tough run into finals for DC in the last six rounds though.
NH, Lalor, LP, PH, FS, NH.
Those last two will be fairly hard fought coming up against the other two sides competing for the double chance.

Andrew Lovett two games in the Reserves at NH. Hasn't been named in the best yet.

Is he being held back due to fitness?

Are they unable to fit him in the points system? They only used 39/45 last weekend

Are they trying to argue a case to lower his points before he plays a Senior game?

I would have thought that beating the other top sides going for a top 2 position would have been more important. Beat them more than you lose to them and % is irrelevant then. FS and DC have both lost games many thought they wouldn't (FS almost twice now).

Against the perceived top 4 (not disrespecting Thommo). FS are 2W 2L 1D, DC are 3W 1L, NH are 3W 1L 1D, LP are 1W 5L. LP need to keep noses clean to ensure top 4. DC/NH can afford one loss against a rival and stay top 2. Ball is firmly in NH and DCs court if you ask me.

In my ladder predictor available on the NFL site I had DC dropping both games to NH and away to FS and finishing third. FS to drop the away game against NH and finish second.

What is it with Lower Plenty dobbing players in to the NFL? 10 weeks in a row they have tried to get an opposition player suspended without any luck. What ever happened to "what happens on the field stays on the field".

I guess im just old school.
