Best wishes to him and his family….Broken and dislocated ankle. Has had surgery, hate to see these bad injuries
Just confused as to why it’s after round 4? Surely he would have known before start of season ?Well 100% official via Norths socials. Saturday will be Harvey’s last game for them.
Not sure if he will pop up elsewhere or that’s the end but what a career
Maybe Boomers injury has something to do with it..Just confused as to why it’s after round 4? Surely he would have known before start of season ?
No idea, if he ends up at Mernda then I dare say for a job which is the rumourJust confused as to why it’s after round 4? Surely he would have known before start of season ?
Surely he’s played without him before something just doesn’t seem right , he’s a legend of the league / club and to do this 4 rounds in ?Maybe Boomers injury has something to do with it..
Final decision made tomorrow by the league. The final scores will standThe Ladder has not updated the Whittlsea Bundoora game, has the result been declared?
According to Mernda sponsor, he isn't playing for Mernda. It would be great to see such a talented player go down a couple of divisions to help develop some kids. Still has plenty to give at that standard. No idea, if he ends up at Mernda then I dare say for a job which is the rumour
Let’s hope common sense is used and Bundoora receive the winFinal decision made tomorrow by the league. The final scores will stand
Or why waste your time playing for a club with a horrible reputation and a imbecile of a coach?According to Mernda sponsor, he isn't playing for Mernda. Swoopingtime why would he bother. Shane had been a champion of the league and going back to a division 3 club that hasn’t played finals for nearly 10 years, can’t see it happening.According to Mernda sponsor, he isn't playing for Mernda. With all the fan fare that will be happening this week around Shane’s retirement it would be embarrassing if he turned up and played at Mernda. If he is going to Mernda then just declare he is going to Mernda and not bother with the retirement party. LolSwoopingtime why would he bother. If he does and it helps Mernda, what happens on the off chance they are successful, would he play 2024 in division 2? Better to get games into the younger players, otherwise you run the risk of losing those younger players to other clubs.
Shane is a legend of the league, if he is retiring I hope all NFNL followers who can get to his last game for Nth Heidelberg get to the game and send him off with the respect and recognition he deserves
Don' think it would be embarrasing, it's just the right thing to do as a club what NH have done, give a proper send off to one of the comps greatest ever. Would be ordinary if there wasn't a big celebration IMOWith all the fan fare that will be happening this week around Shane’s retirement it would be embarrassing if he turned up and played at Mernda. He absolutely deserves a send off and credit to NH. It just seems unusual to have a retirement party only to turn up at another club weeks later.Don' think it would be embarrasing, it's just the right thing to do as a club what NH have done, give a proper send off to one of the comps greatest ever. From the clubs Insta page 1048 goals from 234 games. There were a few years there where Shane was effectively unstoppable. Played in some very ordinary sides yet still kicked bags of 7,8,9 against Heidelberg and Bundoora in their prime. Anyone that witnessed the day he kicked 10 in a rep game against the EDFL will never forget it. Would love to know his total goal tally if someone has it.
All hypothetical but doubt he plays at Mernda (this year anyway). Can only assume he is pulling the pin cos his body can no longer do what the head wants, if that's the case and still wants to have a kick you'd hope he would do that in the 2s and help some developing players rather than switch clubs. He absolutely deserves a send off and credit to NH. A big gap to second? I don't think so. There would be a group of 10-15 players that could lay claim to the best the league had seen and to be honest there shouldn't be many arguments no matter who your choice is.Best ive seen in the league, with a good gap to second.
Great player and everyone has their own opinion, but not even in my top 5. Played quite a bit of Div2 footy and kicked bags against some pretty ordinary teams. No doubt he also performed against some of the best in Div1 as well. At the end of the day a great career and nice bag of tricks. Great to even be thought of in that way as one of the best.Best ive seen in the league, with a good gap to second.
