You would think someone would suggest “hey you wear blue shorts and we wear white?”

Ridiculous clash! Shorts choice stupid.
I find local teams are kind of backwards like this, not very keen to sacrifice home shorts for the sake of reducing a clash even though they still have the advantage of playing at home. Granted this probably looks worse in the photo than in real life given the we can’t see the backs of the jumpers here but it’s still ugly.
Funnily enough I played for Bundoora Park in my junior days and we wore a navy jumper and teal shorts at home and it surprised me that teams didn’t wear home shorts against us since our home shorts were kind of light but I guess everyone just defaults to coloured at home and white away.

I hear what you are saying, but in the next breath we all complain about the traditions of the game going south….

Early days and it’s looking a race in two…are there people who couldi nominate the best 22 from each club and speculate the strengthof each. I feel if every club had its best on the field each week it would be a more even comp.

Beware the slime!!! I wasnt at the game so keen to hear how/why they could pile the goals on in that last quarter - More Hyde magic!!
Bergs are a good outfit - Yules are going to be competitive at the pointy end with a few key players out

Dogs in total control before losing all of bench to injuries before 3/4 time.

Started the quarter with 18 then Captain of dogs red carded for quite possibly the softest alleged “headbutt” you will see 10 minutes into the last.

17 v 18 for the last 20 minutes. That was the difference. I’m sure Greensborough will enjoy the win but up until no bench for north, north had all the answers. Rematch will be fireworks later in the year. Lots of chat in the game.

Captain of the dogs has form for idiot acts? Apologies if I am highlighting the wrong bloke

Plays on the edge no doubt but usually fair. It wasn’t even worthy of a yellow, let alone red. If ever there was a time for an opposition captain to step and say to the league look there actually was no contact, it would have been this incident. The standard of footy in this league is great. Just not sure we want the good players missing for this stuff. Sure draw a free kick, but red…sheesh.

Thought that was the case - Heatley happy that his skipper is leading by example

Hope you enjoyed your second loss at home for the year. Flag favourites my arse 🤣🤣

Haha ok champ, keep your account active for another 4 months. Just want to make sure your high quality analysis is here when the finals are on. You’ve heard it here forum, brass tap has locked in the borough for a flag.

Here's a breakdown of the game from Shelley St.

Q1: honours relatively even, NH slightly cleaner and more composed with the ball, taking a lead into qtr time

Q2: NH gain the ascendancy in the match, a combination of playing better and somewhat aided by getting the rub of the green with umpiring decisions (as happens in footy) and an inaccurate opponent- GB kicking 1.6 to NH 4.3 for the qtr. GB player yellow carded for descent

Q3: NH continue to stay on top, opening up what they and many others think is a match winning lead, GB get a couple of late goals to give themselves a chance. GB lose a player to a yellow card for a dangerous tackle, despite a NH player getting away with a similar one earlier. Margin 32 at the final change

Q4: GB start like a shot out of a gun, kicking quick goals to pile the pressure on NH, they are better at the contest and gaining ascendancy in the air as well. As anyone who's been around footy for a while knows, teams where there is a Hyde/s in the coaches box pride themselves on being super fit and running out games strongly. The same people will be aware of the NH no.11's penchant for getting himself reported, and that he is just returning from a suspension which caused him to miss a prelim that his team lost by over 80 pts. The umpire was right on the spot at the alleged incident and had no hesitation in handing out the red card. After the first few minutes of the qtr, as Dennis Cometti would say, "momentum is wearing green" and other than a brief period where NH get a goal and get some control over the ball it is clear the slime have too much momentum and will win, kicking 9 goals to 1 in the last qtr

The game was played like most others, a bit of niggle between 2 old rivals and the odd push and shove but nothing outlandish. NH did their premiership credentials no real harm and GB showed they may be a bit better than some predictions

Probably just me ......God I would love to see Bundoora relegated to DIV 2 this year just to prove that money cannot buy you happiness!!!;););););)
Have played more finals over the last 25 years then any club, With 3 Division 1 premierships

However it is a cautious tale to any sporting organization. Do not deviate from what made you who you are. Invest in people and people will invest back in you

Strange to single out one club, you could insert a number of others in this statement. Unfortunately for some it has.
