Let’s be honest which players that left Whittlesea to go to Epping in last 2 years are senior players?
Most were poor 2’s players or under 19’s
If Epping appointed the coaches than that’s on Epping, lucky Lower are so bad at the moment but still wouldn’t surprise me if Epping drop to division 3, then what happens, do the players they recruited this year leave or stay?

100% the players who went were 2nds players.
but there was a lot of them!!
I think Lower will rally and stay up.

Interesting to hear the fall out of Morangs loss .
What are you expecting or heard?

The Morang result opens up an opportunity for someone to stake a claim for third spot. Northcote Park absolutely demolished today and now find themselves in an arm wrestle for the top 5 with a poor percentage. R12-14 stretch will be telling for them - Panton Hill (away), St. Marys (home) and Thomastown (away).

I think South Morang have a few away on overseas holidays which will explain the loss to St Mary’s. Will be interesting how they bounce back next week against thomo after the loss!

Barden is a wanka 3 clubs in 1 year! Lower would have offered him big to go back to that club! Barden did nothing for them today I hope they realise 1 player isn’t gonna change anything!

Northcote park went to shit today played better round 1 against Diamo. Interesting who wins between Northcote and Lower! Maybe lower do have a chance against Northcote

Epping to only loose by 31 today is not a bad result considering they had the Kunelias’s in I don’t think they are up to senior football! I reckon all new players will stay and old players (Kearney, Taylor, Freebairn) possibly a few more back next year with those old coach’s out the door!

Is Jacob Booth full time with Diamond Creek now or still on Collingwoods VFL list? Guy is a superstar at this level and possibly gives them the edge of Eltham I feel. He’d be the best player in this division.

Agree it’s a two horse race, but panton hill coming from a fair way back and will only continue to get better and gel more as the season gets closer to finals, which they’ve shown to be doing since the season started. Anything can happen come finals as we’ve seen in previous years…

Booth will be playing when it matters

I heard he will be at Diamo basically full time from here on out.

10571z definitely a good get, imagine Lower Plenty in division 3, the fallout would be huge you would think
Yep, would be absolutely terrible for them as a D1 club not long ago.

Would take a fair bit of recruitment to bounce back up as I don’t think they’d even be in the D3 finals race atm and who knows who wouldn’t play next year.

10571z could go the opposite way, would a few ex-players come back if Lower goes down to division 3
Issue becomes though the salary cap goes down so paying players becomes even more difficult

Would certainly be disappointing but not a “huge fallout”. I see it as a similar situation to 2005 when we were in Div 1 and finished winless under Watto with a very young list. That was the result of Danny Sexton moving on to greener pastures after 03 and some individuals putting the club in a precarious position during 04 that led to a loss of personal and players.

The last round of 05 saw us playing 10 under 19’s inc Dave Mitchell against Bundoora who beat us by close to 35 goals with us only kicking our first in last qtr I think.

It was all doom and gloom back then but but we regrouped and stabilised.

Currently the moral around the place is great (despite no wins) and I think everyone involved understands where and why the club is where it’s at. Must say that as someone who attended all pre season, Plunks and all the coaches have been sensational with keeping a good vibe for the younger guys and keeping them up.

I know there’ll be plenty probably salivating at us going down to Div 3 and talking up a demise but I think if it happens it will bond a lot of people together inc younger players who actually feel invested in the place, which is a good thing.
