You would need about 200 metres of temporary fencing to be right to go at Eltham.

They have played many finals there in the past. Hopefully it gets a look in again this season.

Best facilities in the league by a long way.
I agree

It's also the reason why Heidelberg haven't had finals as people can be going for a walk on the path and not charged!

I watched the Heidelberg v Riverside cricket GF there a few years back and the atmosphere was great. Just gotta put temp fencing near the bridge, bike trail and out the back near the station and it can work.

It's a shame too because it's a great viewing ground, and as much as it pains me to say it, Eltham are great hosts
Finals and Grand Finals should be held at either Heidelberg or Eltham, the lack of atmosphere at Epping and Whittlesea really deflates the game overall IMO. If you get a handful of people skipping the gate it would be irrelevant for the event overall.

Lack of at atmosphere at Epping coincided with not letting cars in IMO which caused everyone to congregate clubrooms side. Put some effort in, have clubs that want to run a BBQ or drinks stand over the far side, let cars in (only reason they don't is the grog so make checking cars a condition of entry) and atmosphere won't be an issue. Same goes at Heidelberg and Eltham. If ground condition suitable for the occasion, leauge should look at how they can make it work, rather than finding reason why it wont/can't.

Giving away my age but played finals at Whittlesea, Epping and Heidelberg when you could have cars around the ground
All had great armospheres
Only been there once but what about that ground Watsonia played at last year - Binbank Park? Fantastic ground for viewing and facilities were first class

No where to park cars at Heidelberg and Eltham, the league have been adamant about not letting cars in, due to people bringing alcohol in. It’s a shame the minority have ruined it for everyone.

Parking surely not a deciding factor? Look at the circus we have to deal with at Preston each year.

Parking wise at Eltham you have all of the station, out the back next to the tennis courts, and even as a stretch could utilise CLC if an agreement was in place.

Better than all that, just jump on the rattler and get dropped off on the doorstep.

“BuT yOu cANt WaTCh FroM tHE TrAIn” lol

The general thread was about the atmosphere when you could take the car in eg Epping. Peanut.

And as previously stated, the Peanuts that were getting alcohol into grounds ruined it for everyone else. They will not let cars in the grounds
