Honestly not sure. Would’ve been low scoring. The game was very congested. Kangaroos played lots of kids. Three x twenty min quarters with no play on. Hope the bloods go well anyway.

Ararat Eagles? Not being critical but gotta ask.... so you went all the way to Ararat not to play the Ararat Football Club? The Eagles play in a tiny little minor-league up that way.

Versus a Div 3 NFNL team is probably a much better match up than playing Ararat who are back to back reigning premiers in the Wimmera League whilst not being in the echelon of O&M, Ballarat, GVFL is still a strong major country league.If they played them it probably would have resulted in a much larger margin the other way. Plus winners beers on the bus home would have been great fun for the ivanhoe boys
Yeah, I get it from that perspective but wow a 3-hour trip all that way not to play on the Alexandra Oval is a wasted opportunity imo. Amazing venue. Ivanhoe twos would beat the Ararat Eagles. Anyway, great to see them going all the way up there in any case.

It's not always easy to find practice match opponents, and it sounds like Ivanhoe had a bus trip up there, and made a day of it?
A bit of team bonding on the bus is probably just as valuable as what happens on field.

Same could be said for Stars who played North Brunswick or the Army team? Its irrelvant for practrice matches. Teams are never full strength and you take what you get sometimes. Confidence heading into the season or bonding are more important.
In saying that after teams have had a chance to showcase a bit of their potential what type of predictions are we seeing? I have so many questions.
Are Laurimar currently a bit underhyped? Might be closer to stars than we think.
Stars have Spicer, George and Farrant on primary VFL lists how much do they get out of them?
If JBK plays for Epping does this push them also to challenge Stars?
Mernda with Gregson and Evans also not to be discounted from the top 3 fold?
Kilmore and Ivanhoe flying under the radar? Will turtles and west keep up with teams above them?
So many different variations of predictions right now dont think anything is a shoe in. Kinglake and Lalor bottom 2 for me at the moment.
