No one giving west much of a chance against the Lakers. 4 losses in a row would be a disaster for them after starting the year well.

Every year this seems to happen.
Looks like they have been hit hard by injury. No Bulman Hill x2 Kelly Paton Gleeson Cookson Odowd Scott missing from there round 2 team. Health will play an important part for every team.

Not sure about every year, did a deep dive.

2019 - Start 5-0, lost the next 5 and finished 7-9
2021 - Started 5-1, lost the next 4 and finished 6-6
2022 - Started 1-4, went to 3-6 and finished 10-8
2023 - Started 3-0, lost the next 3

Tips for the round:
Turtles love punching up the little guys 156 pts
Mernda to beat Lalor by 183 pts
Stars to win at home in a close one 10 pts
Kinglake to continue home ground dominance 13 pts

Round 8

Old Eltham 4th vs Reservoir 8th The turtles come off the bye looking to continue their winning form, they take on Reservoir who suffered a big loss last week against Fitzroy Stars. Another tough day for Reservoir, Old Eltham by 149 points

Kinglake 1st vs Heidelberg West 6th The Lakers bounced back from their first loss with a strong 5 goal win over premiership favourite Laurimar. Coen got the 10 coaches votes on a dominant display at CHB. Pywell kicking 4 goals as well in the votes. For the hawks Kelly was best but he is out this week in a big blow for the Hawks. The hawks to make the Lakers work hard for the win but at home Kinglake too strong. Kinglake by 27 points

Lalor 9th vs Mernda 2nd. Another tough day for the bloods with a 185 point loss to Kilmore. It doesn’t get any easier with 2nd placed Mernda coming to Sydney Cresent. Smith, Gillespie and Bawden in the votes in their win last week. Mernda by 179 points

Fitzroy Stars 7th vs Kilmore 6th two teams coming off big wins last week and will look to continue that winning form. The stars welcome Peter Hood back into the senior side and with Lionel Proctor playing his 200th game the stars will be looking to put on a winni performance. For Kilmore Barton, Irons and the Derrick brothers have been in great form and will look to soil the stars party. Tough game, but will go with the home side in Proctor’s 200th game. Stars by 17 points

Best of luck to all those players selected as 23rd man. Enjoy the footy

4 out of 4 last weekend

Winner of the round: Going with Kinglake, not so much for their 46 point win over Heidelberg West but their overall record of 7-1 with their bye to come after Kings Birthday weekend bye. Not sure many of us had them going so well but they have been a breath of fresh air into the competition so well done to all involved

Loser of the round. Tough one between Kilmore and West. West have now dropped 4 games in a row, as mentioned earlier injuries have hit hard and they should get back on the winners list in round 9 and turn for second half of the season 4-4
For Kilmore they play Old Eltham after the bye and if they slip to 3-5 it makes it very difficult for them to play finals

Spot on.
If Eltham knock of Kilmore and Mernda knock off Fitzroy in the next round, then the top 4 is done.

It's a bit like Div 1. Can't remember 2 Divisions where the finalists could be settled a long way out, If results go the way of the favourites.

3 teams are 1 game out of the 4 and we aren’t even half way.

The top 4 is hardly set regardless of results this week.

It's well and truly set if Fitzroy and Kilmore both lose. They will be 2 games and 100% out. So have to pick up 3 games with only 8 left. Not going to happen.

Can Kilmore beat Old Eltham at Kilmore after the break, on current form you would have to say no
Can Fitzroy Stars beat Mernda at Mernda, I think this is more of a possibility so Stars and West would be one game behind Old Eltham to start second half of the season.

If games do go to form though you would have only West being one game out of the 4 and Kilmore and Stars 2 games out.

All three are approx 80-100% points behind the top 4 sides as well which is another game

It's more relevant than your post about canteens!! Run along now
He hasn't coached at Reservoir since 2021 - relevant how??

Same amount of wins between both clubs while coaching both clubs is relevant

Enough airtime for you - bye bye
