Confirmed?
The next step in the process regarding Ivanhoe and the OPs is for it to be ratified by AFL Victoria. The VAFA still have the right of refusal, however with this much water under the bridge now, I’d be surprised if they did.
Once that is done, the NFNL can start the task of fixturing.

Curious how an 18 games played season would work with contracts already having been signed. Based on last years salary cap with a 16 round season, clubs essentially will have a reduction in their per match payments in 2024 even though the cap has technically increased.
66k in 16 rounds is higher than 72k over 18 rounds

Increase it proportionately based on $ per round (divide the cap total by 16 and then multiply by 18).

Common sense one would have thought ... but it is AFLV we are talking about - they'd probably reject the increase so they can try and catch and penalise more clubs
They should increase the cap as they are increasing the season from a 18 rnd season to a 20 rnd season. I get D3 play only 18 games, but what happens the following year when they bring another team in & get rid of the byes, still no increase. My mistake, the NFNL is only interested in bringing more $$$ for themselves via affiliation fees & fining clubs.

Season felt ample long enough with 16 games imo. Why make it 18? The top 4 was basically set a long way out besides the fight for 4th.

I just don’t see the need for 18 especially in the environment of clubs at all levels struggling for reserves.
