It’s only one game but have Heidelberg West gone that far backwards or are Parade that good? Seen West had 7 new recruits from Macleod and Banyule all debuting in round 1 but they we’re still blown off the park. Disappointing for the club if they will not be a finals threat this year after getting so close last season.

I think their loses are far greater than what they brought in.

3/4 guys who made the team of the year are gone. Throw in L Hill, M Hill, Williamson as well and it’s gunna hurt.

End of the day they’ve bought in some new talent so won’t happen overnight and they seem to have a few young blokes to develop.

Looking at their socials it looked like they had 9 new players, that is almost half a team

We have all heard the same rumour that Mernda players and officials had the sh*&ts about an incident that occurred during the game - Not sure if it the incident posted here.
I just posed the question was one of their players badly hurt cause from the above picture it was just a fist at the ball

Mernda, of all teams, had the sh*&ts about an incident during the game? Mernda who has a history of belting players off the ball and a list of suspensions longer than your arm? Mernda who were targeting a Turtles player off the ball and trying to belt him and rough him up in the same game?

I think the often overlooked factor for WH is they have changed senior coach also. A couple of players have left who were tied to previous coach and it will take time for the new coach/ game plan/ additions to the playing group to connect and find there feet as expected.

Walked off the ground straight after Fletcher spoke after their GF loss last year. Didn’t stick around for the Laurimar coaches speech or the presentations. That says it all.

Turtles have a history of throwing blokes from oppo teams under the bus. Wouldn’t surprise if there was a few teams that would be enthusiastic about returning the favour.

Sleeman is the best at throwing oppo under the bus, any club thinking it aint going to happen to them are dreaming.

It's a sh!thole, but any of the remaining 7 clubs that have to play there, word of advice, inspect the ground on the wed before yr game & if you're concerned about the ground report to the league otherwise theyll f@k you over cause they're not going to shut down the Club of the year from 2023. league will give you nothing. Word has it multiple clubs complained about that surface last yr.

It's our first HOME game in the NFNL and welcome everyone down for a look to enjoy the night with the bar open, food truck and some live after match entertainment.

Just checked the NFL site for tribunal details - The NFL are up to date as usual with September 2023 tribunal results the last posted results!!!

They do not care about the general punters that have an interest, we are not paying for their long lunches and extra shot soy lattes they take 45 minutes to walk over to the Uni to get.

But be assured, fines are coming, something has to pay for these lunches and lattes.

Unfortunately you are right - Their wages are paid by the clubs & the clubs are run by volunteers most of whom dont have the business savy to band a heap of disgruntled clubs together and hold these clowns accountable for their performance - Check out the board members and you will gain further insight as to why there is no accountability

Ironically after Ivanhoe lost a GF in the 80s that ended that way in the crowd that day brought on that ban on alcohol.

Watching this unfold as everyone else is and listening to a few rumours outside this forum re the game - Got to ask, was a Mernda player badly injured from an incident and that is what has the Mernda club up in arms?

Kellet named this week for Mernda, obviously not KO'ed as some suggested. Then again I cant imagine Mernda would be that fussed about a silly concussion protocol
