As Fadgey would say ...
Who is this Adze and how many games of footy did he play to be the purveyor of AFL level hardness?

So posters should just read this thread and move on without trying to point out why/why not they believe he could become the goat? That’s a fair opinion to have. Whilst I mightn’t agree with all that you’ve said, I can respect your point of view.
I also don’t reckon it’s such a big deal, or even relevant to you or anyone else, what expectations Collingwood supporters want to have on their own players. All whilst already enjoying Nick’s development either way.
Again, just smells like tall poppy to me. Is it really such a big deal for someone to think he’ll be a GOAT? Reaction to it seems like abit of an overreaction.
This thread should be on the Pies board. Blame Fudgey boy for this travesty instead of blaming the masses. That’s a fair opinion to have. Whilst I mightn’t agree with all that you’ve said, I can respect your point of view.

That is definitely a good example of when stats don't demonstrate a good game.Is that why Neale got 1 vote for 22 possessions and 7 clearances last year in the same game Daicos had 38 possessions (game high contested), 2 goals and 5 clearances?
Do you have any particular examples that umpires vote on stats alone?
Serious question, and I dont know the answer. Is he the type you build a team around or the cherry on top?
Rowell for example, you build a team around him all day. They are incredibly different players, but it does take all types.
FWIW - I have been vocal in this thread that N Daicos is a super talent and one of the best ive seen at his age, so not canning him by any means.
Do you actually believe, or expect anyone to believe, in some universe somewhere, Nick Daicos would have ever been matched up on Charlie Cameron? WoweeThat is definitely a good example of when stats don't demonstrate a good game.
I'm pretty sure that's the game when Naicos started on Cameron (who kicked 6 goals) and kept getting exposed running forward. He got dragged from Cameron and moved into the middle. I'm pretty sure that's the game where he roundly was criticised for squibbing contests against Ashcroft as well
Hmm interesting take.He is really neither.
He is a good player but has been the beneficiary of being a number 1 pick walking into an experienced side which was at the time underperforming under Buckley. So he has effectively been able to play the game using the strengths he had before being drafted because of the guys around him. Those strengths suffer tremendously when the guys around him aren't at the peak of their powers. Fly needs to send him down back. He can't play inside mid with what the Pies are currently producing in there.
No current season stats available
Nah, you’ve completely missed my point. I never said it shouldn’t be up for conversation. Not sure why you’ve taken my post in that direction. So posters should just read this thread and move on without trying to point out why/why not they believe he could become the goat?
It’s literally the whole point of the forum, if you don’t want valid criticism laid against your ideas don’t post them or get upset when people have a view that contradicts yours
Especially if the only argument you have is to claim tall poppy syndrome or to simply ignore the criticism
This is fairly disingenuous because a group of Carlton supporters and the OP have been potting each other for years. If OP author truly believes Nicki is heading for greatness, perhaps responding in a more truthful and balanced manner regarding other players mentioned, both, current young players and some of the greats before him, it just might illicit different responses form others
Any time someone other than Fudge asks us a decent questionThis is fairly disingenuous because a group of Carlton supporters and the OP have been potting each other for years.
When was the last time you guys actually had a truthful and balanced conversation with each other?
In the last qtr last night he was giving Higgins no respect. Probably lucky he only kicked 1.1 in the end. That is definitely a good example of when stats don't demonstrate a good game.

Someone always goes too far.Even Schache would be embarrassed by Nicki’s weak as piss efforts last night lmao
You could’ve said like me as an example!Any time someone other than Fudge asks us a decent question

This is how sides will have to counter him moving forward. Let him get forward of the ball but make sure his opponent has the ability to make him pay as well either on the scoreboard or through the middle.
Against Sydney he showed the Swans midfield no respect either and it showed with their ability to dominate when they got the ball moving.
That is assuming that umpires are good judges of who is BoG and don't just follow the media hype and pick their favourites, as that is what have been consistently shown to do. He would have got at least 1 vote and probably 2 in both of the first 2 games. Not a chance.
Would be on Zero.
GWS Game - 3 - Whitfield, 2 - Brown, 1 - Green/Kelly
Sydney game - 3 - Heeney, 2 - Warner, 1 - Gulden
St.Kilda game - 3 - NWM, 2 - Steele. 1 - Higgins
Only slight chance is the Swans game, but they were comfortably beaten
Depends on if you want to build a team of soft unaccountable squibs or not.Is he the type you build a team around
English pleaseYou could’ve said like me as an example!
