Maybe he should get 10 fewer possessions a game, including a couple fewer contested, so as he has a higher percentage of contested possessions to please the BigFooty masses...

All I'm doing is telling you what the stats are saying. You can interpret the stats however you like.

Not everyone on here is going to sing from the same song sheet as you. The sooner you realise that and accept it, the better.

We all know N. Daicos is a good player, but people on here (and off here) will assess him differently, and do you know what - that's fine too.

Is the person who bashes and crashes at the coal face the creator?

Personally I think they’re the grunt.

And I’m definitely not saying Daicos will be the GOAT. I think the whole topic is asinine.

But assuming you are saying the GOAT has to be that type of player… of recent midfielders who is the GOAT playing that style?
This is the take. Dumb argument by dicktards that don't get that different players do different things. You could argue that the goat has to be the right kind of player in the right position, perhaps Dusty is a shout but for me it's Ablett Sr. I think Nick is more like Judd than anyone, just hope that he keeps it at the absolute top level longer than Judd who was just a good star player as he got older - and became Carltonised.

Was his goal with 63 seconds to go last night contested or uncontested?

He's a connector, not a creator nor a finisher. He's the one who gets the ball from the guy who gets the hardball and gives it to the outside mid. He's a vital link in the scoring chain.
Any danger you can watch a game.
Quite possibly the worst take I’ve seen.

Especially when the non finisher kicked the winning goal.

He's short-legged and quick. That's not high-level line-breaking speed. Think Judd, Danger, Deledio.
I mostly agree with this. Nick is quick off the mark and accelerates quickly. In the open field all the players you mention are quicker at full pace.
However they would all have trouble catching Nick. Why? Because Nick at full pace has that short legged turning speed. He would simply out turn them and lose them that way.

Edit: still a bad thread. Way to early.

I’m one of the people that call him soft from time to time but I agree with your assessment 100%. So clean and such a smooth mover.
Almost Walsh level of weaving through heavy traffic.

Going by your reasoning, Mason Cox should be one of the fastest men in the AFL with his long legs!

Nick seemed to go ok last night leaving Carlton players in his wake with his so called short legged stature. And its not just yesterday.
