obviously you dont watch him play football. this guy breaks packs, outmarks nearly everybody, thats what true defenders are meant to do. not like scarlett who receives a cheap handball out of defense all the time.
you being a brisbane supporter wouldn't understand since you dont watch a real team.
2002 is also the year peter garrett left midnight oil.I'm sure they watched both Brisbane and Collingwood in the GFs in 2002 and 2003
Great early call, we all knew Maxwell deserved AA, i just wasn't sure whether the selectors would give it to him.nick maxwell is dead certain to make the AA team.
he has dominated all of his opponents all season and helped the defense to get back there and clear the ball out.
whoever thought at the start of the season that maxwell will choke as being collingwood's new captain, think again.
being a leader of such a young side, he has been sensational and has improved heaps of his skills.
he deserves that 'C' more than the likes of harley (lol), mitchell, harvey etc..
AA HBF: maxwell.
now lets see all those collingwood haters out there disagree
You couldn't just get anyone to play his role. It requires:
1) Courage
2) Ability to read the play and know when to zone off your opponent
3) Good footskills
4) Height
5) A good contested mark and spoiling ability
Hmm let's do a comparison with Fletcher (who was also in the AA squad) and Maxwell.
Note I don't think Dustin deserevd an AA gig.
1) Could say line ball
2) Fletch wins hands down
3) See point 2
4) See point 2
5) See point 2
Well if they were the criteria the AA selectors surley stuffed that one up.
If this happens it will be I new low for AA

The only thing that is stuffed up is the eye that you didn't have open when you wrote that, you biased clown.
Childish retorts - ahh the intelligence of a pies fan.
Ask non-pies and dons supporters then - see who they would want.
For a career or for 2009?
Obvioulsy 2009 as there is no contest for career.
The one hting I will admit is Fletch missed a few games during the middle of the year.
And I will repeat - No I don't think fletch should have got an AA gig, but considering the guys who did, he could consider himself stiff because the bar was lowered.
Whos opinion is more important and respected? Yours, a guy on some net forum? Or the AA selection committee?
great player, wish fletch played for usObvioulsy 2009 as there is no contest for career.

although i'm a pie supporter that is very funny.

so did no st.kilda player making the backline in the AA team, now that cracked me up.Wouldn't matter who you supported I don't think, cracked me up.
