No debate. Being anchored to the bottom for 5 years trumps all

Experienced players

Yeo Vs Simpkin
McGovern Vs Corr
Duggan Vs McDonald

Which batch you picking? Because imo Yeo’s 2nd half and McGovern’s game was the difference.
Yeo is a hardened, experienced player with extensive finals and GF experience. Simpkin has been blooded through a horrible period. They can’t really be compared. For mine, it’s Yeo v Shiels.

LOL..how's that going?

We’ve gone back to our corners. I think other people don’t appreciate what we have been through for years as North supporters and how much a win - even a meaningless one - means to us. But also I remember what it’s like to have high expectations and have them dashed. Bottom line last weekend we both had a great time watching wins, this week we both had awful losses, that’s sport.

Serious question,
Would either of our 2 captains get a game with another club?
Not be captain, get a game.

Simpkin would play at plenty of clubs, but wouldn’t get anywhere near as much midfield time. Would be depth only at a top 4 side.

McDonald shouldn’t even be in our 22, let alone any other club.

Duursma as sub was dumb as. My goodness that was annoying. TV lucky to survive. Wife wisely kept silent during our meltdown. Comben does not seem to learn lessons very easily. I hope PC has learned the cost of profligacy.
I assumed that they'd playing him on the wing as the sub. But they put him in the fwd pocket, where his fresh legs were meaningless.

So frustrating.

Let’s be realistic here on where we belong to finish on the ladder …
We got beaten by 16th no coach Wet Toast & if the Tigs would have kicked straight last week we would have lost to them …
3 wins for the year , a percentage of 68% & dropping after we get pumped by the Dogs next weekend & lose to the in form Hawks in Launceston.
If we finish with the spoon again this year it’s deserved & should not be a surprise to no one ….
Clarko & the coaches 2024 …it’s a big fat fail no matter how you want to sugar coat it… (& don’t give me the “we have the youngest list” BS either.
GGF !
Well said. We are lucky to have any wins at all and they were all very average wins. People have been sugar coating our ineptitude all year but there is nowhere to hide now.

Am I right in thinking that he might pass the present record but get gazumped by Rowell, who will set a newmark this season? Unlucky.
I don't know the AFL record. These are just club records.

Edit - he's 38 off the AFL record, but that includes 3 finals, where Scott Selwood got an extra 20

Come on. We were better than both Richmond and WC. We just got jelly legs in both games. We are lucky to have wins but we are equally unlucky not to have more wins (Collingwood and Melbourne).

+6 clearances and +22 contested possession’s resulting in +17 inside 50’s.

All culminating in 4 less shots on goal?

How does this repeat week in week out? How does this happen?

Why are so many poor ball users kicking inside 50?

Blanket ban any of the turnover merchants from attempting any forward 50 entires and make sure they pass it off.

Why is the also zero scrutiny on the experienced forwards who manage to come up with 9 marks inside 50 for the match?

How many times have we watched the same garbage this year?

Whilst I have seen improvement in other areas, the connection between mids and forwards has remained woeful!

Agree on the sentiment it was a nothing game really. 16th vs 17th with the season well and truly over. If we want to drop a game and learn a real hard lesson it's now. As annoyed as I am to lose you can see improvement there.

Last time we lose to the Cokers for years I reckon. Bit like the GC game in round 24 last year which we gained nothing from winning.
The that's the problem, it wasn't a nothing game! We aren't in the position as supporters to treat it as a 'meh, it's nothing, we'll beat them next year'.
We were favourites, we lead in just about every stat, we looked like a side that could've gone up a gear and really blown them away...instead it just reaffirms that we are a long way off from being a truly dangerous side, one capable of rising out of the muck of the bottom 3.
WCE - 5 wins, 16 losses - 20pts.
NMFS - 3 wins, 18 losses - 12pts.

Let that sink in a bit.

Mcdonald and Simpkin aren't inspiring anyone to push hard in the last 5 mins.
Really need a big shakeup of the leadership at the club.
I'm talking poach someone from a rival ala Dawson to adelaide.
Our team has forgotten how to win.
Forgotten? That would suggest that they had been winning in the past. Let’s be clear, this team, essentially, as a unit, has never “won”. They are literally learning to win from scratch.

But will they? That is the million dollar question. We all know who should have their papers stamped but I am tipping the ones we think should dont

Well Clarko did a fair clean out and "encouraging" players to retire/look elsewhere last season, and I can understand certain players not being dropped after tough games against Carlton and Geelong, but I cant imagine anyone who didnt seem up to the task in the last fortnight of winnable games, and don't have youth on their side, would be retained. But anything is possible I guess.
