No non-Vic team has defeated a Vic team in the Grand Final without list or salary cap concessions

Instead you have the massive case that West Coast won it because they were given such a soft run in finals earnt on an unfair Home Away season.
Lol

We beat three top 8 teams away including two top 4 teams

We won 9 games at home - 7 games interstate

Its our MASSIVE interstate record EARNS us top 2

when was the last time the tigers beat two top 4 teams away?

Dont beat those two top 4 teams and one top 8 team and we come 8th and play away every finals game.

West Coast finished top 2 with playing last years Premiers once and at their home ground.
Geelong had to play the Premiers twice at Richmond’s Home ground.
This earnt finals business is inherently dodgy and why its all debatable.
You came third last year and never travelled

3rd is a flight interstate week one guaranteed for interstate clubs barring a derby

What's this one, the idea that non-Vic teams get more home ground advantage during the H&A season? Not the case for West Coast in 2018.

Your line is actually more applicable to Richmond 2017, who received a very fortunate finals fixture off the back of a bottom-6 draw.

Its pretty simple - the grand final in melbourne every year is locking most australians out of ever seeing one as the airfares / accomodation etc are too high

So your going to relegate the Grand Final to about no 25 on the Australian Sporting Calendar. The finals and half the home and away matches are going to be bigger spectacles.

Locking people out ? Without the club members themselves, the ground must be able to hold a minimum 38,500 people according to the AFL seating arrangements. Hold it at the Adelaide Oval and leaves 14000 tickets to average Joe football supporter.

So you’re changed from home ground advantage to .. it’s all about the fans.

Can you do something about the Sydney to Hobart?

Yep but Adelaide still played more games at Adelaide than Richmond did at the MCG and Richmond were a half a game off not getting a fortunate finals fixture.
There’s a sook story for everyone.. you just have to look.

Spare a thought for Geelong, St Kilda, North Melbourne Bulldogs,Essendon yes Essendon.

We are just as unhappy as the mcg tenants about you playing home games away

We played fkkn hawthorn at fkkn etihad

Ffs thats a vital game at the mcg for us and a hga loss for them - lose lose.

Were not unhappy. You guys are the sooks. But anyway it’s 11 to 10 for the interstaters. What ratio would stop the sooking . 21 to 0 for interstates 20 to 1 ...19 to 2 ... 18 to 3 tell when to stop?

What ratio would be acceptable would be a rotating grand final where every team from every state is less likely to meet a tenant of the state holding the gf.

You mean the season where we didn't lose a game in Victoria and you couldn't beat anyone outside of it? Didn't seem to matter where WC played. We won most of our games at home and most of our games away, give us a few more away games, I doubt it would have changed where we finished at all. Hell, we beat 3rd place at the G twice in the same year and beat 4th at Etihad. I just wish we could have played the Tigers at the G so we could shut up this debate once and for all.

The new Optus staduim dimensions has lessoned our advantages and disadvantages. Melbourne sides feel more at home there with the field and vise versa.

So screw the AFL grand final as a major sporting event. Let the members scrounge over a few thousand tickets.
Just too make things less likely ... when everything is already working beautifully.

Are you guy that’s going to stop following the AFL if they don’t move the Grand Final?

By having the best record over top 8 teams? WC were 3-0 over the other top 4 teams in regular season with 2 of them away wins. WC lost to Melbourne once (with both Kennedy and Darling missing) and Sydney twice, however beat every other top 8 team. Clearly did not have the gift draws the likes of Richmond, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Melbourne had.

Only one of our teams went undefeated in Melbourne and at the MCG this year. It's a pity that Richmond can't win where it counts.

Members already scrounge over a few thousand tickets - the mcc and the afl members mean that before we even know whos in the gf tens of thousands of seats are unavailable

Nothing stopping an Eagles fan becoming an AFL member or MCC member back when they joined the league.

If you had the foresight to put your name on either list in the late 80s you could get yourself guaranteed GF tickets if the Eagles make it, and best option to go if the match-up warrants it....oh well.
