Any people in this thread pump weights?

I've been trying to cut back on relying on tonnes of meat to keep up my protien levels. Wouldn't mind knowing what other posters eat for muscle repair and how effective it is.

Spudball at its finest.

Stokes is a massive issue England now.

And Remind me what these blokes have won since McCullum took over any series of note.

Threepeated the Moral Victory Cup, what more do you want from them?

Yes same as me

It's the constant chicken and beef that I'm a bit over. Did you get protein from chickpeas and beans?
I didn't back in the day, but during me heavy lifting days, my diet was not as healthy as it is now. I'm now a fan of those two food & a spinach fiend.
Sorry if I'm not much help. Good luck & you hopefully have inspired me to lift again. Ta

It's a really healthy thing to do for both physical and mental health. Particularly as we get older.

I just am concerned about eating so much meat to up my protein. I hope you do get back into it. A feel like I've achieved something each morning and I am less likely not to drink alcohol

I lost 10kg between March and may this year.
Practically cut meat out 5 days a week.
Nearly killed me.
Couldn't think clearly, down on energy.
Felt like I was floating a lot of the time.

It's no surprise vegans are a bit short tempered and spacey 🤣

Let us know if you find a good alternative

Define too much.

I got diagnosed with Type 2 in April.
Pretty much don’t drink anymore, eat some bread but not much. Pretty much exist on meat and vegetables.

Am lifting and walking on alternate days pretty much.
Eggs, tuna, sardines, lots of beef and lamb, some chicken and pork.
Natural yoghurt or vanilla yoghurt with no sugar, blueberries and strawberries.

I’m not doing anything stupid with meat/fish but will have it or eggs with every meal…don’t skimp on the veg…don’t get veganism, but carnivore is equally bonkers imo, unless for a complete reset

I’d say the lack of overall calories would be the main factor in why you couldn’t think clearly, and were down on energy. Dropping a kilo a week or more means you’re not getting anywhere near enough calories a day.

It’s okay short term if you really need to drop a lot of weight but not for ongoing health.

Veganism isn’t really done for health related reasons very often. It’s generally a lifestyle and moral decision based on cruelty to animals.

I agree with all the food listed above. Poor extra protein especially when in muscle building phase, is there any reason whey protein isn’t okay?

If you can learn to cook with Tofu it's a great substitute! Takes a while to get the hang of it though, I spent a bit of time on YouTube learning different ways to cook it.

I also try to swap rice with quinoa when I can (if I can afford it). Jackfruit instead of pulled pork works a treat too!

My girlfriend's vegetarian, so I usually cook vego more than not. Makes the steak/parmys at the pub so much tastier!

But you've definitely hit the nail on the head earlier about alcohol. The amount it disrupts your sleep and recovery is crazy. Plus a lot of calories. I'm trying to teach myself to like Komboucha, but my body doesn't seem to enjoy it yet 😅

How good is a pub steak after not eating meat for a few days.
I will be the last man standing as I'm savouring every delicious fork load instead of shoveling it down like a mad dog..

Food ☺️

Yeah alcohol is a no go for sleep and recovery. I do still drink occasionally as some of my friends seem to struggle to socialise without it and I get caught in the will power or lack of

I just can't get my head around tofu. It's definitely a required taste. My missus family run livestock down in Albany so it's bloody hard not to have it on our dinner menu.

I haven't been to the CY O'Connor pub in ages. I remember them doing a great steak and also parmigiana
