The thing that annoys me most about Ward is this crapolo that we lost him for the sake of $30k or so as it smells to me like a story someone tells you to justify why they left. Whilst there may be an element of truth to it facts are GWS were offering almost twice what we could and he and his manager would have known that all along.

There has also been this BS from the media that we as a club somehow didn't realise that he was going to be a champion. We absolutely knew what his potential was and to think Melbourne got double the compensation for Scully that we got for Ward was criminal.

I can't 'like' this post enough! Thanks.

Some non Bulldog footy talk from the Herald-Sun, May 18, 1997. I read this when I was looking through some microfilm at the State Library the other day. It has nothing to do with the Bulldogs but it did come under a small heading in that weekend's sports section titled "Woof Woof". It read like this:

It's mentally deficient to think a team "stole" any player in a draft system from another team. Gets even more stupid the later in the draft you get.

I remember he used an account on Bigfooty to read up on himself & in my opinion that is just an awful idea and if he read the Richmond board... Oh boy
