If you consider where the umpire is viewing from you can see the ball was likely in line with the boundary curve. All about the viewing angle.

There was a worse one against us at Docklands a long time ago against Collingwood. Neon Leon kicked a goal from a metre outside the line. No sympathy from me.

AFL has boundary rules ass-backwards. If your foot is over the line, it's OOB. Trying to adjudicate the ball position on a curved line is stupid. Just follow what cricket does.

It's a whole conversation that needs to be had about the rules:


1. Allow leg tackles - less head injuries.
2. Touched? So what if it goes through the sticks it's a goal. Twice last night play on was called for touched or not 15 metres. Players pretend not to hear the call and don't get pinged for HTB. The ball went more then 15 metres in the air. LOL.
3. Deliberate OOB, just pay last touch. Umpires are not mind readers.
