"when a team shined like few before."

Hamling didn't leave for opportunity, he left because his father was unwell.

HS article, so poor grammar and inaccurate details entirely unsurprising.
I feel like those kind of articles are a bit of a wank. 2016 was a long time ago, from the Swans I think Rampe and Lloyd are the only ones left.

Don’t think anyone would’ve thought Macrae, Daniel, Hunter and McLean would’ve left the club but not like it’s abnormal. Losing a Dunkley who was 18 in the GF is a big loss…
It's a filler, nothing more. Sliced white bread.
No insights, no research other than to see when players changed clubs and how many games they played. I could do that in 10 minutes.

There's a hiatus in footy news at the moment so they need stories. The draft is still 2-3 weeks away. The AFL is probably hoping the space gets filled by the start of the AFLW finals. But not everyone is going to be following AFLW. So the media need to keep pumping out space fillers relating to the AFLM.

Ignore. Move on.

Agree.

I've not looked at the exact figures but I suspect we're not hugely different to most flag teams 8 years on.

I was suprised to read how many games Dahl actually played for Geelong I can only actually remember one or two.

Was about to post the same after reading that. If someone said the over/under on Dahlhaus games for Geelong was 50 I’d have put the house on under. I’d have guessed about 20-30. 71 is baffling, I can’t remember him doing much at all there.

He didn't. That's why it's hard to remember.

He recorded Brownlow votes every season of his WB career except his last one (2018). Never got another vote.
His standout years were 2015-2017. We probably did well to part ways with him when we did.

I am a bit shocked to see he played 225 career games, when contemporaries like Easton Wood didn't even make 200.

I didn't realise that Wood was struggling to get out there so much at the end. Only playing another 87 games after the premiership is wild.
I remember he had an awful injury run when he was young, impressive how he finished his career overall.

I can also remember supporters questioning the decision to keep JJ in his early career, boy didn’t that pay off in the end.

'Hey, it's Beveridge's final year of a contract. We need to turn up the heat. Find me a story. I don't care how tenuous it is...'

Zero substance, zero insight, pure sensationalism and clickbait. Like 99.9 per cent of stories in the AFL media these days.

So they will be doing an article about that?

Interesting draft discussion around StKilda.

Apparently they are looking to trade down one of 7&8, and are in discussions with GWS (15&16) and Richmond (a combo from 10, 11, 18&20).

Saints have a glorious history of bombing early picks, but with Dalrymple on board, 3 picks inside 20 should be a pretty good move.

They should trade for pick 16 so we have the pick directly after theirs. Good chance to find a star one pick after the Saints.

As good as he was with us, Dalrymple's recent top end selections really aren't that impressive.

Hope we don’t have to play any of these teams round 1

If the AFL are hell bent on 4 games in Syd/Qld only as an opening round, I reckon it should be against the SA/WA teams.

Then R1 could be the same eight teams playing in WA/SA and the 10 Vic teams all playing in Melbourne.

Would be fairer and could set up some real blockbusters for R1.

What you suggest is logical and sensible.

Unfortunately this is the AFL running this sh1t show...

I would be ropable if I was a north supporter and playing two home games in WA. I had a look over at their board and they were surprisingly happy with the outcome. I thought they would want to burn the place down.

Glad we play at Ballarat, which we is slowly becoming a major home ground advantage.

They had been playing 4 games a year in Tassie, so they are still playing 4 home games interstate

Selling two home games to WA and not having to go back there for any away games is a decent result imo.
