Not bad if you can get it.

Interesting to see which way the AFL go if they jag another 1 or 2 flags in quick succession.

Definite head start, can't argue with that. But they do need to remain under the cap, so can still only accumulate a certain amount of talent. It should be a wake up call to our list management and strategy groups that filling your 22 full of hard working mediocre foot soldiers will not get you a flag. The list composition needs to change to have more talent at the top end and less value spent on holding and retaining depth.

Was West coast at all concerned Richmond didn't hire Mcqualter after being their interim coach last year?

And if Mcqualter works out for West Coast Richmond are gonna look a bit silly.

I would have thought Richmond wanted a fresh voice as head coach. McQualter was an assistant coach there for a while, there would be times where you wouldn't want to just promote from within

How would it work instead of spending 5 mill on a concert for 15 minutes, with the new chip in ball technology that’s coming give away 1 million to 5 people for the longest kick but you have to be a full club member.
Obviously could be dressed up a bit to make it a must watch event.

I think the crowd would prefer to see a top line international music act. It effectively adds $50 to the price of a ticket, 5 of their best songs isn't bad value.

Bringing in the likes of Cumming (allowing Hinge to potentially play through the midfield/wing) will certainly help executing that gamestyle better.

I don't know about Hinge in the middle. That'd make 3 one sided left footed players in the rotation, might be a bit easy to defend against if there's 2 in at the same time.

McQualter has a better record as interim coach than his replacement...

They were allegedly awaiting the coach decision. Both nominated WCE almost immediately once the news ‘broke’ this morning.
Yeah, didn't sound like a coincidence.

Both solid pick-ups for the Weagles.

The concern is potentially overpaying for Baker. But we need to boost the list, particularly in that age bracket. In line with Don’s vision of a more “modern” list build.
Wouldn't have thought cap would be an issue for you guys.

Baker is a very consistent player.

You get in 2 experienced players who will help lead the way with the younger players.

They have a player that’s going to take up good player 4 wages 😆
Good problem to have I guess

Cap isn’t an issue. Overpaying in terms of giving up a good pick for Baker. But the report of that seems to be from the same place (VFL media) that are reporting 25 for ANB!

Happy to see both of our clubs improving our lists, mind you, we could do without losing Barrass!

We can give them McHenry, Murphy & Parnell... problem solved lol.

Whenever the VAFL media are talking about a Victorian to non-Victorian club they talk overs...

Carlton clearly don't think Houston is worth Pick 11 in a strong draft.

I suspect the reality is beginning to set in that two first rounders was a pipe dream that was never realistic.

Ultimately Houston is only worth what club's are prepared to pay and it seems that Carlton think he's only worth a pick in teens.

I saw a clip of Rucci discussing Houston and he more or less hinted that Port needed to move Houston on to obtain draft capital, I suspect the "we'll keep him" threat is an empty one.

It could easily end up that the Houston and Luko trades could end up being around the same value.

I think Roos is spot on with his review of what Sydney are doing wrong - relying on offensive talent but no longer good at hard defensive footy. Believes they may have to trade out good players who won’t run both ways. Meanwhile Bucks shows footage of Gulden not chasing Lohmann, who gets the ball and goals in the second quarter. You can see that Gulden lets him go because he believes that his own team mate will win the current contest, so he wants to hold an offensive position, get the next kick from that contest and surge forward. Doesn’t happen, Lions win the contest, Lohmann gets the ball and goals.

There’s no doubt that Sydney failed to compete in the contest, and will need to add defensive muscle to their offensive talent.

Meanwhile rumour that Warner may want to go back to WA. Could be the start of the necessary reshuffle.
