There are about 8 wins left they will flat track

Then 2 unexpected wins, maybe Geelong in Kardinia Park.

Really no different to 2020/21. Flat track on bad teams and jag one or two wins against good sides.

Showdown Round 23 could be renamed the Ken Extension Cup.

They will get their mojo back soon. I think a big reason for their early malaise is quite a few players getting COVID in Feb.

I am not saying they will do it easily. Just scrape in. They won't win a Final. Making the eight is enough for Ken to earn his extension for 24/25

Highly doubtful they will extend Hinkley contract even if he make finals, there's no way a club will stay with a coach for over 10 years without making a Grand Final let a lone win a premiership even if it's someone like Kochie is at the helm. Even Kane Cornes said Hinkley has to win a premiership for his contract to be extend beyond next year but we can only hope. And at worst he will still be coach and they will be a year behind the rebuild with a lesser draft hand this and next year unlike us when Pyke decided to resign after 2019 when he still was contracted.

I’m getting out the saddle for the hobby horse again folks.

WHY does the AFL insist on playing games at these back-of-beyond shithole grounds like last night?

It does absolutely nothing for the game, the spectacle or the reputation of Australian Rules Football.

Imagine someone from overseas tuning in for the first time to a game of AFL and that’s what they see. What would they think?

They’d think it was some ****ing amateur-hour backwater tin-pot competition.

Nah pete, i'd love to see us play games at Unley oval. Imagine tex or rachele getting a mark at half back and lining up for goal

Sydney V Brisbane in about 15 mins time should be the bets game of the round surely....

Its a bit depresing the skill on show compared to our players, we seem to have so many good honest triers. When we are a tiny bit off with our effort it becomes a shit show as our skills are so poor.

Mind you it doesnt help when our coach plays our most skillful player in the back pocket.

Brisbane have a great game style. Very enjoyable to watch
Both these teams are usually good to watch... & there are plenty of unmatchable teams at the moment.

He had a pushy dad. I think dad wanted it more than him.

It’s a fine line between dad wanting it, and wanting it for him

Richard Williams was always open about this, he chose a good life for his daughters and they are thankful he did.

Dad knows life is tough and this is his kids chance, with his life experience, you can see why he might want to push the kid towards it.

What’s the difference between pushing your kid towards a lucrative career in dentistry vs a lucrative sports career? If they have the talent, you might not want them to squander it

Of course. But the kid has to recognise it and want it. And there’s only a small time frame for this realisation to occur for the kid to make it before they are left 100 miles behind. As parents we usually think we’re doing the best for our children, but from the outside it can appear differently.
