So on the subject of Vic clubs selling home games, I'd love to see a rule come in that says you can sell a home game, but it'll be played against a fellow Victorian club. Would stop it instantly.

Should have come in when the MCG GF deal was signed off.

Non Vic sides don't get sent to these mickey mouse grounds and a minimum of 3 mcg games per year.

Agree, won't happen because they need to offer their members catch up games to sell the 11 game Melbourne memberships.

I really think it's the AFL, professional league, games are played in the cities... If you're going to sell games and it requires more than 1 flight, more than an hour on a bus, you should have to pay the opposition some of that money you're getting paid to sell your game to these locations.

I think Port had to do a night in Sydney on their way to Cairns?

It's really contributing to the unofficial division where all of the non-Vic clubs travel around the country playing each other and all of the Victorian clubs stay at home to play each other.

It really is annoying that our games in Melbourne are so limited, and why we are forced to do the heavy lifting on these games at sh*t venues. Tell me if I am wrong, but we have played the following games in regional locations over the last 5 years (skipping 2020 for obvious reasons). Surely the most of any team? I know it is the VFL still, but seriously SOME equity in the draw!

2022: Bulldogs (Ballarat), North (Hobart) (plus Geelong, 1 MCG game v Pies)
2021: St Kilda (Cairns), Bulldogs (Ballarat), Hawks (UTas) (1 MCG game v Dees)
2019: Bulldogs (Ballarat), Melbourne (Darwin) (plus Geelong, 1 MCG game v Carlton)
2018: Melbourne (Alice Springs), GWS (Manuka)(3 MCG v Hawks & Richmond & Collingwood)
2017: North (Hobart), Melbourne (Darwin), (plus Geelong, 3 MCG v Hawks & Carlton & Collingwood)

Compare that to say, the Eagles.

2022: Regional - 0; MCG 2, GMBHA - 1
2021: Regional - 0; MCG 2, GMBHA - 1
2019: Regional - 1; MCG 3, GMBHA - 0
2018: Regional - 1; MCG 2, GMBHA - 0
2017: Regional - 0; MCG 2, GMBHA - 0

Anyway, point is we are getting shafted with Vic clubs selling their games interstate...

You want to get really mad? Check out Freo's schedule this season

Yeah, My daughters boyfriend has had dealings with him and hasn't got much nice to say about him, just a rude arrogant w***er was his description
I've taught Cosi's kids tennis before at a School Holiday clinic I definitely had more issues with his wife, she was also arrogant and entitled even threw out "Do you know who my husband is?" Line

We don't get a lot of Marvel games these days either.

Prior to Gold Coast entering the competition I'm sure we used to get 6 or 7 a year, I'm sure it's us and the other non-Victorian clubs picking up those away games most years.

This year I think it's 3 or 4 games total.

I used to go to Melbourne 2 or 3 times a year to take in a number of games, obviously including one of ours, and it was great because I'd have half a dozen weekends to choose from so something would work with my schedule and there would be some other good games to choose from.

Now even pre-covid, there might be 1 or 2 weekends that fit with my schedule and maybe 1 of those weekends would have the other games I'd be interested in. I don't really bother.

With Port locking down Azac Day, it seemed like there was a time when we'd usually have a game in Melbourne that weekend. This year? Mars... I'm not Elon Musk, I have no interest going there.

Ha yeh. He’s that guy that gave Marshall some sort of undisclosed favours for a $420k grant.
