North have officially started applying for a priority pick.....as per AFL.com
It's been a formality for ages now.

Pick 1 this year and either pick 11 or 19 next year is my guess.

I hope the AFL tell North to not let the door hit them on the way out.

They don't need picks, even their president said they have a great list. They need a decent coach, get their off field situation sorted, and then to be patient with their high draft picks they have coming through (JHF, LDU, Phillips, Thomas, Simpkin, Powell, Stephenson).

There's plenty of talent there, if anything they need the AFL to come in and get their admin right. Just like GC, picks are the last thing they need.

If North are demanding a priority pick, we should be on the phone to the AFL demanding we get one too. Only a handful more wins, 5 years out of finals, 3rd consecutive bottom 4 finish coming up
This actually should be the exact line Crows use to justify their priority pick as well. Not to mention it effects literally over half the state if the Crows are not performing well.

We’d be to proud to ask

We absolutely should. But the dumbest part of the whole thing is that it wouldn't have been necessary if they'd:

a) Given reasonable compensation for Brad Crouch
b) Not given Gold Coast their priority pick in 2019. Pick 1 allowed them to get both Rowell and Anderson (and we were left with McAsey)

ROUND 23 ROLLING FIXTURE.

Not sure when the AFL have to decide when this is to be finalized, I presume in the next week or so.

Given the results (on my predicted ladder yes there are a of permutations and potential for so many upsets) (yes I have penciled Port for wins for vs Tigers at home and Dons away and losses to Cats and Pies), assuming the rest of the results pan out according to ladder positions and home ground advantages, Port can still make the 8 in the final round if certain results go their way. Like Dogs losing to Hawks. However if the Dogs win, it will knock Port out of the 8 regardless if Port win or lose.

I have the Tigers losing to Freo,Lions and Port.

That being the case, we may end up getting a Thursday Night Showdown.

Exactly!

The GC leg ups were a disgrace. They gave them picks they didn't need, they already had a list made up of high picks. Then because of the allowance of just adding expanded zone players to the list, they then ended up with a full list and couldn't use the picks they were given.

So now they have 6 picks in the top 40 and will trade some of those away for nothing too.

All the while, we have seen that their improvement has come from players already on their list (except Anderson), and from getting a decent coach, improvements in their development team, and time.

North aren’t getting a priority pick and neither are we
And the other 17 clubs should be pounding AFL headquarters doors telling them no PP's for north full stop. They have plenty of talent - they just need to redo their back of house and get a good coach and let their new fitness team have time to get them right.

I love how Derm wants to stick his nose in and comment on Daisy Pearce' commentary. Derm you are by far the worst commentator in the game, you don't know who half the players are. Just because you were a decent footy player does not make you a decent commentator/analyst.

He gets rubbed the wrong way, when he knows that he would only make it as a midfielder at his height and not as KPP in 2022.

Fundamentally disagree with PPs for anyone.
The GC picks are the example of why - punishes other clubs (us in this instance) who also need assistance but are slightly less shit, pushing their improvement back.
Plus most clubs find themselves being shit due to decisions they have made, don't see why they should be given a leg up

He would but I can’t stand listening to him. Has to talk for the sake of it and repeats what he’s saying 2-3 times just to make sure he’s heard
Dermie is best in small doses.

Problem is game coverage go over the best part of 3 hours... which is a bit top much Dermie.
