A lot of things are already headed in that direction - that's why shopping centres are now full of service shops, such as hairdressers, nail salons, tailors, remedial massage shops, etc. which can't be done online.

I still like to try clothes on, before buying, to check the fit - but a lot of other things can easily be purchased online.

I remember going into the Myer Centre shortly after it opened. The Virgin Megastore was packed, to the extent that you could barely move through the customers. It took 10-15 minutes to get up to Dazzeland, due to the shitty design of the elevators - the escelators for going up/down between 2nd and 3rd floors were adjacent, but you had to walk half way around the building to find the escelators connecting 3rd & 4th. I think I went up there once, and decided never again - the process of getting around the Myer Centre was just too painful to be worth the effort.
Yes I agree I can see that happening most definitely. Shopping centres will be as you put it a service centre.

Even with clothes these days, its already at the stage where you can put in your measurements and upload a photo of yourself to get an impression of what the clothes will look like on you. This will get more sophisticated in the future with VR. Trying on clothes in a store will be a thing of the past for sure.

Oh and has Woden Shopping Centre changed much over the last 10 years?

I've barely set foot in it in ages, not surprising as I live on the north side. I did a training course in Woden a year back, and it didn't seem to have changed much.

They did some fairly major renovations to Belconnen Mall a while back, but even those changes must be a decade old by now.

Brisbane had one too "Tops" it was called. Had a pirate ship, ferris wheel and rollercoaster. Closed in 2000.

To their credit, they repurposed the space left by Tops well with a cinema complex and a smaller arcade.

It’s coming up to 25 years since Dazzeland closed and bar Fernwood spending a few years in level 4, level 4 and 5 have sat abandoned since.

So,

About the football…
If Thebarton falls through, I heard the Crows are going to use levels 4 and 5 of the Myer Building as their new base.

Especially when the escalators are placed such that you need to walk past 2/3 of the shops just to get to the next one. It's designed to extract more money from shoppers, the effect is to drive people away from the shopping centre completely.
Airports are exactly the same. They don’t put departures straight after security, or baggage collection on landing close to the gates. They want you to walk past as much retail as possible as they make more money from retail rents and car parking than they do from anything else.

Waiting for the AFL to release an announcement during the Australian Open final, a spontaneous rule change like hitting the post will now be worth 3 points, something completely ridiculous.

Or a new scandal story breaks

I feel gross saying it but I sort of agree with Kane in his last article.

Why is Tarryn Thomas being welcomed back with open arms after two police incidents within a month? All this "he's a good kid" garbage is absolutely pathetic.
Nah he's spot on. North's only excuse may be a different coach has a different approach

Clarko probably said he can only come back if he moves in with one of the coaches and hands over his phone

Not AFL, but then neither are amusement parks or tennis :) but facebook just fed this to me...

I think we all know that there's a convention in soccer that if an oppo player is down injured, and you're in possession, you kick the ball out of play to allow for the player to be dealt with before restarting the game. Here's what happened in a Leeds v Aston Villa match in 2019:

Jeez, if convention was for you to kick the ball out of play every time a Power player fell to the ground clutching his head, it'd be 2 hours of boundary throw ins
LOL, but if I'm not mistaken, something like this has happened, i.e. players called a halt, to protect an injured player, when the umpire hadn't.

Well it wasn't during the final but the AFL did just announce a new rule change.... Those fake handballs to get the person on the mark to move won't trigger a 50m penalty anymore
