Wouldn’t load. But there was nothing wrong with Port’s China strategy. They never played a home game there and the entire enterprise was supported and funded by the AFL. I’ll never understand the criticism.

Stocker had better be good at St Kilda. In terms of sunk cost, it's not a big deal for the Saints. It's more what it would say about Silvagni's character if it were to turn out that he's forced a dud player onto his new employer's door step because he couldn't handle being wrong. That would irk me if I was a supporter.

It waseither ‘85 or ‘87 because in ‘86 we were in Europe enjoying Chernobyl fallout and Mad Cows disease.
Edit…must have been ‘87 because Lyon only started with the Dees in ‘86.

Without taking anything from his playing career as it was great in its own right, but I wonder if he'd have the 'aura' he does if he wasn't such a 'legendary father/son' ?

If someone was setting up a Super League type competition, you would only take the 6 biggest teams from Vic... Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon, Hawthorn, Richmond and Geelong.
The only reason I believe that there's 10 Vic teams is to ensure that the Vic clubs hold the balance of power in terms of decisions/voting.
