How exactly is it a good thing that a club legend and premiership captain doesn’t have the same opportunity to be on the board as a lawyer or tennis coach?

I think one of the issues is apparently Tredrea hasn't been around the club or at games for a few years. Obviously some of that time he wasn't allowed to go due to his vaccination status but even so it's fair that he gets back involved in some form before going on the board.

Was Holly Ransom doing the dishes in the bistro before she got her board spot?

Was Kochie are the club much before he became Chairman....

Don’t think he actually watched any footy ……… clueless
Some Port supporters would say he doesn't watch closely now... givven Ken is still coach.

think they have started eating their own in recent times
That's when it's fun to watch as an outsider...

Will be interesting to hear Tredders thoughts if Ken gets them off to a slow start again.

She was attending games which is a good start. Giniver said no one at Port had seen Tredrea for two years.

Anyway I don't know why I'm defending the decision. I think it was just 12 months too early for him but I'm sure he will end up on there but I really don't care so will leave it at that.

Both clubs should have fully member-elected boards.

The way it works now at both clubs is that all but two of the board positions are “appointed.”

Of course they are “AFL ratified” to give the illusion of independence (if you can call any sort of influence from the corrupt AFL “independent”) but in reality, it’s the heavies around the table who recruit their corporate and government mates to the board, and the circle-jerk just continues ad infinitum.

It’s hard to believe paying members of both clubs haven’t started a mutiny over this. It’s the single biggest issue with the SA clubs and everything else pales into insignificance. You are not a member, you are a customer. You are paying to be a ”part” of a club in which there is zero accountability of governance.

And the results of both clubs are plain to see.

So the 2 years where he couldn’t set foot anywhere near an AFL club because of his Vax status?

Or the period where he was in the media and therefore trying to be independent?

The 2 year thing is a cop out.

2 years you say. Wonder why he couldn't roll up to the club or games. Simple reality is that Tredders is a dissenting voice, and that's not welcome over there or at our club. Only like minded individuals need apply.

That said, given our head start and inherent competitive advantage, it's pure negligence that we're remotely comparable to Port in terms of footballing success.
