Ahh excuse me Mr Southerntakeover , I couldn't help but notice that you haven't got a ladder prediction in the prediction thread. If you're so confident port are so good, put it on paper, even just do them and us if your overloaded with work and want to save time.

Also shall I go and check what you were posting about their fantastic midfield last year, especially rounds 1- 5?

Same goes for you Trigger13
You have him quaking Carmo

Yep, it’s a joke to compare their established midfield of young guns already producing at elite levels compared to our hoping.

I’m confident Soligo will get to their level but Berry doesn’t have their class, Rachelle might but he’s only getting small midfield minutes.

Port have set up their midfield for 10 years and if the rumours are true they could be getting Pickett, fuxk.

The Jones, McHenry and McAsey picks have hurt us badly. Ogilvie should have been sacked for those picks. Crikey look at SPP and Marshall who Port picked AFTER Gallucci

I find it mildly amusing, if not a little concerning, how much some people on here can’t handle other Crow fans talking up the Power’s list. Bet you my house if I said the GC had the best young list, no one would bat an eyelid.

Also, rounds 1-5 last year is pretty damn irrelevant, isn’t it. I’ve been talking them up since JHF arrived and knowing that Pickett will be there next year. Why don’t you make a prediction based on that??

On a more fun note. I can’t bloody wait for today. If you want my prediction of the crows; we will take it to some very good teams this year, but I’m concerned about the balance if we rob peter to pay Paul with Rankine and rash in the midfield.

Predictions are like assholes.

I didn't say we don't need more elite mids. Soligo and berry will be elite. Zac taylor has the potential to be. Maybe pedlar. I'd say we just need a couple more.
So you think we need six elite midfielders? Seems excessive.

Melbourne won a flag with only two....and good support from others.
Geelong won last year with even less.(and a middle of the road ruck)

Once our six elite mids come on like you say, half of them won't fit in the team. I'm not sure Rachelle would like the SANFL as a depth player!!

We don't need more mids, we need better mids. Our guys have all shown they're trajectories are tracking well. Moving Sloane, Crouch and Keays away from starting mids helps too. Whether we make a big jump in performance soon or a bit later, even the hardcore pessimists should be able to see what's happening with our team.
SA footy should have a better year as Port should improve as well. But the showdown will be amazing... especially once we put them to the sword 🗡️

2 top 5 midfielders with the best ruck

Yeah.. pretty much the two best mids in the comp though..

and their other mids in Bradshaw, Viney etc aren’t too shabby..

In all of professional sport? Of course our club is nowhere near the modern gold standard of sporting success, but we’re not even in the bottom five for worst run orgs in our league. Madness

I agree that we lack an A+ midfield prospect that Port currently has, but basing your analysis of our very fresh rebuild off of where our midfield prospects were drafted, rather than watching them play, is - for lack of a more polite term - stupid
We wouldn't be in the bottom 5 but we would be 6th worst after Gold Coast, North Melbourne, Carlton, Essendon and St Kilda

Men's team only of course

Yeah, but you would have thought being a Crows "supporter" you would have some basic football knowledge of the development of our midfield and it's not as far apart as Port Power supporters think ;)
I reckon most in the industry would disagree with you. I hope our football dept disagree with you because if they don't, and they are patting themselves on the back "job done", then we are in for a decade of pain.

You gotta be pretty dynamic to play midfield as a 17yo in the sanfl (see JHF)
I certainly hope Josh’s minutes increase significantly this year.
It took Port until Rozee’s 3rd year to pull the trigger and that was only when they were getting smashed by Carlton. Rankine and Rachele seem to be tracking well to push for permanent midfield roles eventually and bring our midfield what Rozee and Butters are bringing Port.

Laird and Wines are both very good midfielders. Both elite.

Maybe give Rankine and Rachele a bit of time given they are just starting to play more mid minutes, Rozee only just started that last year. You completely ignored Soligo.

Powell-Pepper was on the scrap heap 18 months ago.

Honestly, I get that on this board it’s better to be more complimentary of other teams and talk down our prospects, but we got a lot of exciting talent on this list for the first time in ages, let’s try enjoy that for once 😀

Rankine and Rachele will probably be the sorts of players that are "too valuable" up forward to ever be permanent midfielders meaning we'll still need to go get some elite permanent mids.

With that said I'd have no issue us playing both as permanent mids

Game 1, perfect day, playing a top 4 team and yet there are a LOT of empty seats.
Are they all still lining up for their prison bars?

Looking forward to when they declare it sold out and post a crowd of 45,000

brisbane would have very few travelling supporters. I wouldn't be laughing at Port just yet, we've hardly filled the stadium ourselves the last couple of years.

JHF is annoyingly going to be a star.

I really can't understand how there was any doubt about that given exposed form and doubly so after finding out about his medical issue. A bad attitude would have been buying into the Noble led kangaroos. You want players that rail against that kind of culture. It was hilarious watching our supporters delude themselves into thinking there was any risk with that kid. He is driven to win, wish we had experienced players that hated losing.

Isn't Powell-Pepper more a forward?

Wines may be a Brownlow Medalist, but he is now nowhere near their best midfielder imo.

We are yet to recruit those 2 elite midfielders you need for sustained success.
