Thought he hardly had an influence on the weekend & not convinced he wants to be captain.

He seemed almost invisible out there for most of the game. He would be one to trade as a club would still offer up decent draft collateral and he wont be there for ports (hopefully never) next flag push

Captains don’t have an influence every week.

He was joint captain and wanted it and was overlooked, what makes you think he doesn’t want it?

He also had a limited preseason, so think his form is suffering. They don’t have many options but clearly shouldn’t be Jonas.

Port appear a bit light on for captaincy worthy players. I think they'd have to go either Wines, Rozee or Burton. There are literally no other viable options from what I can see.

The more I look at their list, the more it becomes apparent that they are in a world of hurt.

It just looks so unbalanced, 5 x 200cm plus players sitting in the twos.

And apart from Josh Sinn, not sure there is a great deal of quality to replace the likes of Boak, Jonas etc.

I watched the replay of the first half last night.. fxxk me Rozee just takes a dive forward whenever he feels any tackle pressure coming from behind him.. its just pathetic.

He did it in the centre at one stage and it was hilarious because Pedlar was ready for it.. Rozee felt pressure from Pedlar and just dived forward onto his stomach expecting Pedlar to follow and land on his back but Pedlar simply kept his feet and stood over the top of him… so Rozee had to quickly dish off the handball..

It looked utterly ridiculous..

I’d be pissed if crows players constantly acted up like that for frees.. its just so unsportsman like.

I am still trying to work out if the extra ump is a good or bad thing but it seems that Port of the past few seasons have been getting away with dives, holding, scragging of opponents and pushes in the back.. but arent getting away with it as much this season so far..

Drew’s whole career as a shut down mid has been based on him constantly holding and restricting his opponent.. he’s now being called on it and its making him less effective..

Rankine did a nice 180 threw himself back at one stage there looking for a free … Then had the balls to complain when the umpire didn’t take the bait!!

A lot of players do it because otherwise they get nothing. Exaggerating the contact is part of AFL now.

I think they could beat Sydney this week, the smaller ground will help them. Will need to tighten up defensively in a major way however.
