Robbo didn't miss us in his article but..

"You don’t want to believe it’s true.

To demand an abortion to aid a player’s career is beyond comprehension.

Fagan and Clarkson are decent people, family loving people.

Yeah, they are determined and driven, and these allegations will rock them to their core.

There will be context and/or denials, but - if true - not sure there’s any imaginable context that places human life above playing football.

The AFL has no choice.

Neither does North Melbourne.

Franky, if true, neither does Clarkson and Fagan.

They must step down today.

This is a time for action from the AFL. Not words. Not promises. Not backslapping about how inclusive football is.

This is yet another example of the intergenerational trauma suffered by Indigenous players.

Eddie Betts revealed the horrors of the Adelaide camp where white people told black people how to think, what to say and banned them from the leadership program.

There was also the well-documented racism at Collingwood.

In both those scenarios, no one was punished by the AFL."

In this case, the AFL must finally take a stand, be the leaders they say they are.

Not only is the whole football world looking at the AFL, so too, is the sporting world.

This story will sweep the globe, just as the Essendon supplement saga did.

These allegations are much, much worse.

That was about needles.

This is reportedly about an unborn child.

If true, the legacies of high-profile people will be destroyed fore
ver.
Honestly, what a w***er. They did it at the time of Eddie's release, and he's doing it again now - the issues with the camp were not race related (or at least were barely race related).

It's absolute hyperbole to dress this is up as 'white people' doing to things to 'black people'. And Eddie was never 'banned' from the leadership program - more inflammatory wording that badly misrepresents events.

Wasn't it all people who spoke about the camp, and weren't numerous players voted ouit of the leadership group by the playing group, including Daniel Talia?
Yeah I think that's right, it's just that what happened affected the indigenous players more due to the sensitive nature of things that were brought up, and differences in their culture that weren't considered. Plus Eddie is the face of the people that were upset by it.
Very poor by Robbo to make it that the camp was a racist issue, it was a player welfare issue

Our club should sue the Herald Sun for these comments.

Clarkson has to step down until the investigation is concluded..

His position as an AFL coach is untenable..

And I cant see how he can ever be allowed by the AFL to be a coach, or even an employee, at any level within the organisation.

He actually doesn’t start the role until 1 November apparently

Logged on to see how long it would be before Adelaide is dragged into this mess.

Looks at AFL media...well, that was fast.

Sickening TBH.

Why are you shocked? A lot of high profile Vic media have staked their reputations on the camp being the worst thing to happen in football ever. Now one of their clubs has had this come out which is so much worse they can't back out now.

I’m actually not shocked..

Just look at the recent history in the AFL alone..

Look at how Betts has been treated by both his club and members of the public in recent years.

Look at Tex’s comment just last year..

Look at collingwood and Eddie in recent years..

How often do we hear of racist taunts being made towards players by crowds and over social media.. its every second bloody week.

Look at Rankine.. he is one of about 15 players that have requested a trade so far.. and yet he’s the only one whos aparently “being given poor advice” and had his decision fully critiqued and questioned.. As if he isnt intelligent enough, or somehow shouldnt even be allowed, to make such life changing decisions on his own!.. its just fxxkn disgusting.

Look at the amount of racism that still occurs regularly in our society.. its still very common..

I honestly dont see how anyone could be shocked by this horrific racist s**t.. its still, regardless of the giant steps we have taken, unfortunately ingrained in our society.

There is clearly large swathes of of society who still believe racism, even casual racism, is acceptable and when they are called out on it they now fall back to a position that claims they are being victimised and somehow having their right to free speech curtailed!!..

And anyone who dares to say “just stop it, it needs to stop now!” is now called a “woke” flog.

This s**t wont stop until EVERYONE stands up and says “NO MORE”…
It's not an AFL problem
It's an everyone problem.
The things you mention above happen in general society all the time, we just don't hear about it because it doesn't happen to an AFL player
I honestly thought things were getting better but sadly it seems not

How can they work it so that Tim Silvers is the one scapegoat?
On that subject... Silvers was COO at Hawthorn. I don't actually know what a COO does... would he have been involved in any significant way with the players and coaches ie the football side of things? Or is it more of a commercial / administrative role where he wouldn't have been party to this stuff? Would Clarkson have had a reporting line up to Silvers? Or would he have reported up to a football operations manager (or whatever it's called) and from there to the CEO and the board?

He was Head of Finance during that time period not COO.
