I do hate sand.
I'm a fan of there being a Tasmanian team.
I do wonder however, if they are happy with a 35k stadium, why aren't we convincing a Minnow to move to Regional Vic ?
Or alternatively a 20th not in a Capital City (I mean getting rid of 1)

I think AFL learned from bringing in GC and GWS too close together.
Seems Tas team will enter 2028, so would anticipate a 20th team around 2032/2033.
I expect WA will push hard for a 3rd team. They have the population and $ to support it. I believe a 3rd team there would gain sufficient public support.

GC - they have been nothing but a drain and we have lost out bad to them in trading transactions......be nice to draw a line under them
Interesting. As we are building our side now.... to contend over the next 5+ years, we have to smash the draft and not rely on pics from those years. Maybe we are lucky.

Its more that we have been one of the few sides to pay full tote odds for their players and they have got ours on the cheap - Bock, Greenwood, Lyons
Yes Rankine for pick 5 on the face of it sounds about right..but in the same trade window they gave pick 7 and a former 1st round picked player to Geelong for a 3rd rounder as a salary dump.

I'd merge North with GWS and play most of their home games out of Canberra.
I have my reservations about there being 19 clubs, but I congratulate Tasmania on getting an AFL team. They sure as hell deserve to exist well ahead of unwanted marketing exercises like GWS and Gold Coast.
