You finish the H&A season in the Top 4 which means you are guaranteed at least one Home Final.

Its an absolute catastrophic failure to not make the Prelim after making the Top 4, which is par for the course of having a "good season"
Yeah but Kochie believes in the data

Ergo, Port had better overall seasons than GWS and Carlton according to his data.

Just a heads up for all posters on here, I genuinely enjoy if there is multiple repeat posts stating the same thing when it comes to Port bashing and tearing them apart.

Reading just one page on here makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, Crows posters not only bond together in this time of misery of Port, we bathe together in their tears. :$

The majority of board members at both SA clubs have all these three things in common.

1. They don’t bleed for the club (the past players might be the exceptions).

2. They believe they have a divine right to be on the board. This happens when you don’t ever face judgement day via an election. Human beings are not wired to voluntarily give up their power or prestige.

3. They’re completely and entirely out of touch with members.

The board of either club doesn’t want Tredrea at the table because what’s good for them as individuals is much more important than what’s good for the club.

And Tredrea is very bad for them as individuals.

You want to see a salty club?
We must get Tredders in a role somehow.
Wasn't he doing some work with Tex a few years back? Not sure if it was ever an official thing or just a bloke helping another bloke out.

Most corporate boards?

I reckon that's a fairly cynical view. Do you know any of the board members from either club personally? Spoken with them? As much as you bag Chappy (and rightfully so at times), he loved our club, he cried for it. I reckon he would have bled for it too. His problem was he was here too long. I think Olsen shows (now, I realise he's a politician) a great attachment to the Club and is fighting hard for us. Unfortunately, BOTH Clubs are still within the AFL constraints for another few years until the licenses are handed back. That will be the telling time I think, where they return the Club to the fans (or if they find a way not to).

Didn't take long!

The Port I grew up hating (although jealous of their constant success) was a ruthless club, they even sacked one of their biggest names for not winning any finals for 3yrs in a row (had to look that up - before my time) and now here we are with them being satisfied of finishing 3rd in the minor round and not winning a final. It's no wonder the older Port supporters hate Koch and co, they accept mediocrity (we are guilty of this too) at board level and making finals is a pass mark.

He even spoke of losing 3 big games for the year (2x showdowns and 1x final) which suggests that winning showdowns are as important as any final to them. For us fans we also rate them highly, but as a club, it should only be viewed as another game.

Just imagine what Fos would be thinking hearing this.

Long live Kochie!!! :D

Just imagine if they start next season off badly and are (say) 3-8 by the half way mark.....

The hordes of great unwashed will burn down the Alberton grandstand....
The finished 2023 in the Top 6, 2024 be definition will be a much harder draw for them.

Ken could be sacked by midseason.

I used to think they'd rather win a showdown than the flag.

In that case, would he do the honourable thing and step down?

He doesn't seem to be the type of bloke that would do that.
The only way he will step down is if he is paid out fully, which wont happen.

Much like Adam Simpson, he will hold Port to ransom here. At least Simpson has the pedigree, being that he has delivered a flag.

Its really beautiful thing whats happening to Port at the moment.:rainbow:

It should be harder for them in theory, in practice... who knows?

Adelaide finished in the bottom 6 in 2022. In theory, that should have given us one of the easiest draws in 2023. In practice, we ended up with double ups against Collingwood (1st), Brisbane (2nd), and Port (3rd). On paper, Adelaide had the equal 12th hardest draw - in reality, it turned out to be the 2nd hardest.
Source: Winners and losers: Who really has had the toughest AFL fixture this season?

Depending on which teams go up & down, Port could get lucky (again), and get a soft draw. Conversely, Adelaide could get unlucky (again), with a much harder draw than theory predicts.
