Finals Calculation Update !!!!!!!
Unfortunately 1st and 2nd are out of the question, as we didn't win by 100 points :D
Luckily 7th is also out of the question

To Finish 3rd
Melbourne to Beat Geelong by 100
North Melbourne to Beat GWS
Collingwood to Beat Hawthorn

To Finish 4th
North Melbourne to Beat GWS
Collingwood to Beat Hawthorn

To Finish 5th
North Melbourne to Beat GWS
OR
Collingwood to Beat Hawthorn

To Finish 6th
GWS to beat North Melbourne
Hawthorn to beat Collingwood

What is interesting is North Melbourne being able to somewhat choose their own fate in week one
If they lose to GWS, they will travel to Adelaide first week.
If they win, they will travel here to play us.
Wonder which one they would prefer

Cmon north you beautiful retirees

Cmon dees you beautiful inconsistent ****sticks

Cmon Collingwood you beautiful bunch of Eddie sucking toothless ferals

Good to see we've simultaneously won the right to host a home final AND ****ed up a number of other teams in the process. Our likely match-up with the Bulldogs now at Subi instead of Etihad is a massive change.

My only concern is that Adelaide were my back-up to Sydney in the goal of eliminating Hawthorn. We may have to fill that role now.

A chunk of the rest of the round has suddenly become intriguing. Buckling up for a nice weekend of footy.

Tipped norf but now not so sure. They'll much rather go to Adelaide and i reckon they'll tank it

You would think this but Adelaide wont lose two in a row.

North know it, we know it, even Boomer knows it. North are cooked and it smells delicious.

Our record in SA is shithouse, in SA vs Crows even worse. I would rather roll the dice with the dodgy umpiring at Subi than play in SA.

However, it is not that simple.

If Collingwood beat Hawthorn and we beat GWS then Hawks will finish in 5th spot and we would play them in an EF which is the ideal scenario, if we lose to GWS and Hawks lose then Eagles finish 5th.

Either way, by winning we will guarantee either a Hawks or Eagles EF and that is probably better than the other alternative... unless the Crows manage a repeat performance of last night.

Wait will Essendon have the same amount of wins as Freo?

Yes.

If you told me at the start of the season that heading into Freo's last game they would have the same amount of wins as Essendon and Brisbane I would've assumed miracles were done by Worsfold and Leppitsch.

They have to lose by a lot to win the spoon don't they ?

Would be by record breaking margins I'd assume.

Surely they wouldn't for Pav. Surely.

Either way, a massive fall from grace.

Edit - looking at the ladder, impossible, would need to lose by probably 300-400.

I think it's more likely the Bulldogs jump both Hawthorn and GWS into 5th spot in that scenario. So you'd get them. Reckon North would absolutely take that and be a big chance.

What better way for Roos to go out proving how little Melbourne have improved under him than by letting Geelong rack up a cricket score, just like old times.

Well it's not 180 points, so they have made some progress :p
