Yeah the AFL have really lost the plot there. Apologising to a player who transgressed their own rules for the arguments made by their own lawyers? Who did they take advice from on that one?

It's mind boggling that they've basically apologised to a player guilty of transgressing their rules for the rigours of being prosecuted.

For those who haven't seen the other teams for this round, here's the Sun's round 12 side

Good to see former Geelong VFL B&F winner James Tsitas get his name on the team sheet, even if only as an emergency at this stage

What happened? The afl apologised for suspending buddy?
THE AFL has apologised to Sydney superstar Lance Franklin after the forward was labelled a "coward" during a heated Tribunal hearing...

..."It's a strike and not push," Woods told the Tribunal on Wednesday night.

"Did Franklin hit Cotchin? Of course he did as Cotchin had got under his skin.

"There’s kids watching, there’s families watching, it’s cowardly behaviour."

I would say the term wasn't technically correct but an apologising makes them look like idiots. Lawyers say much worse regularly

95% of people wouldn’t have noticed had they not apologised and not many of the 5% who did would have cared. It only served to draw attention. Bizarre.

I could also add Kevin Bartlett to that list. Such a great player for his size, rightly known as "Hungry".
Saw him do a standup in the early 80's. Great speaker, very funny guy.

And Nick Riewoldt, loved him as a player. Very humble, unlike Jack who takes smug to a whole new level.

Approaching mid season 2022, and being too wet for my ritualistic late night walk at present, I was thinking about favourite Non Cats players, and maybe we can select one from each team.

Essendon- James Hird
Fitzroy- Bernie Quinlan

Not a bad list of 20

Probably mentioned it in a thread years ago, but Robbie Flower was/is my favourite non-Cats footy star. There was one of those school holiday footy clinics the VFL used to run along the old railway yards outside the MCG. Each team had hundreds of kids, except us. We topped maybe a dozen. So few, the player in charge of us - a very young Mark Yeates - took his ciggies and walked off. Flower saw what happened and ran over, taking us for a run and drills, kick-to-kick...signed gear, the whole thing. I think half the group probably saw their first Premiership last year.

WC better be this bad when we get to them
they wont... no chance. They'll be all reinvigourated and playing for new contracts and shit.

You just know it.... id luv Scotty to get his WC eating a sandwich moment..... but I just know....

GO Catters
