What a legend. Loved himProbably mentioned it in a thread years ago, but Robbie Flower was/is my favourite non-Cats footy star. There was one of those school holiday footy clinics the VFL used to run along the old railway yards outside the MCG. Each team had hundreds of kids, except us. We topped maybe a dozen. So few, the player in charge of us - a very young Mark Yeates - took his ciggies and walked off. Flower saw what happened and ran over, taking us for a run and drills, kick-to-kick...signed gear, the whole thing. I think half the group probably saw their first Premiership last year.
Duck! Two straight losses to interstate teams at the MCG. Maybe the Demons aren't the unstoppable juggernaut some want to make them out to be.
Our defence will handle them, but I still question our midfield…stopping Gawn will be half the battleTheir forwardline is bog average.

The free to Papley was 100% there, first to the ball and knee in the back by Langdon.2 bullshit frees win Sydney the game.
Seriously this show on Fox after the footy is the crappest thing I've ever seen.
It has a studio audience. How? Who would go to that? Where do they come from?
We have a bloke called De Koning who goes alright, he might give Gawn a crack if he goes forward. Our defence will handle them, but I still question our midfield…stopping Gawn will be half the battle
More like kicking cost them2 bullshit frees win Sydney the game.

I’m more worried about him around the groundWe have a bloke called De Koning who goes alright, he might give Gawn a crack if he goes forward.
Agreed. Although I worry about our rucks/mids vs every contender, I can't think if ours is better than any of the top 6.
Especially once finals hit.
Carlton in 1995 lost 2 consecutive games , against 2 bottom teams- Swans and Saints iirc, and won every other game plus the GF against us.I'm not writing off Melbourne yet. I can recall us in our golden era doing the same about this time of the year, dropping games. It's a long season, and who knows what kind of training loads the Dees have as they prepare for the second half of the year. Get May back into their defense, and things will pick up for them again.
Interestingly, If the Lions can win by a good amount tomorrow, they can take top spot.
with our fwd line getting anything approaching 50-50 through the middle is a win for us. Easier said than done, unfortunately. Imagine 2007 midfield with 22 fwd lineFooty is momentum stuff this year with 6-6-6. If we get momentum hawkins cameron and stengle can slam on goals in bunches. If our midfield and rhys can stand up for 4 weeks in finals we canwin it. But thats a huge if.
The frees were there.2 bullshit frees win Sydney the game.
