SCG isn’t that much smaller than the MCG. Plus the swans play the G well.

Going to be one hell of a contest, 2 best sides all year.

Its different enough.

Plus Swans have played 3 games at the MCG this season.

2W 1L.
Both wins against the Demons, both during their downward spiraling second half of the season.

And that loss was Rd 16 to the Bumbers. So its not like they have a great record there. Beating an average Melbourne on a losing streak, losing to the Bombers and then beating what showed to be a poor Melbourne team in the finals.

perhaps but i thought guthrie was pretty good last night. not too worried- especially for a GF. just pump him full of painkillers if needed
He wasn’t poor. But only 63% game time and only 105m gained suggests he’s not quite right. Certainly not playing to the level he has this year.

If Holmes doesn't get up it makes me think Menegola is the guy. I had Parfitt intially but now I'm not sure.
Menegola in theory doesn't change the structure of the team, wing for wing. But he lacks the pace that Holmes has and on top of that he does tend to just grab it and bomb it. Thats not helping us with the two McCartins at CHB.

If Parfitt doesn’t play it’s going to break my heart. Always been such a beautiful person even when he would’ve been 13/14 years old at Sanderson in Darwin. His cheeky smile would light up a room and I haven’t seen him since 2011. When we drafted him a few years later I knew we had a good person coming to the club.

Also former Cat, Andrew Wills ran the Clontarf Foundation at our school.

Sure but i guess he/medical team couldnt due too much as we still had the GF to prepare for. But with a GF you can yolo it and get him closer to peak powers.

I would prefer Parfitt medi-sub if Holmes is ok, or straight into the team if Holmes isn't.

You’d think O’Connor stays as the medical sub. Can come in for a range of options.

Leaves Parfitt and Menegola. I’m leaning to Parfitt for 2 reasons -

1. His contested game will be valuable against a very contested Swans outfit.

2. C.Guthrie is clearly carrying an injury. Allows him to play a more outside role and Parfitt to take on some of his inside responsibilities.
O'Connor is the perfect medical sub unfortunately for him. Plays a variety of roles but just outside the best in all of them.

I had Parfitt for the contested last night but after watching the Swans then I can see why you'd want the bigger engine. Creating a loose man was huge for the Pies and he'll do that plenty in the 2nd half.

Counting on the Swans lacking run? Can you take that chance? Maybe just go with the more consistent option in Parfitt.

I hoping like hell it’s a moot point and Holmes plays. But failing that, I’m going for the guy who had great form pre finals rather than the guy that’s had injury concerns for much of the year.

Yeah me too, you can't replace Holmes perfectly and we have to make a sacrifice somewhere. Just a matter of where you think it'll matter the most.

I love cam but if hes not right he shouldnt play especially with parfitt and menegola in the wings.

That’s right. Pretty confident that whoever we go with won’t be the difference regardless. Think we are primed this time.
