I'd love to get Tambling. He can play the guy... this year was plagued by injuries I think and from that his confidence was shot. He's a confidence player, and when he was up and running from mid 2009 til end of 09 he was awesome. Racked up the touches and took the game on. If we do get him that's what we have to get him to do, try to take the game on. He's got the ability to break a game apart- he's super quick but seems to be only running in gear 1 most of the time. Bock pick sounds good to me.

He was good playing under Rawlings who is a motivational coach, would he be good under Craig who is.. er.. not?

Tambling suffers primarily from being expected to play as well as a #4 draft pick should play, but he'd be well worth a second round pick.

I read in the paper today that Richmond would demand a high pick for Tambling, I couldnt really work out why theat would be, besides him being a first round pick, can we ask the same for Seller?

My opinion with Petrenko is that Craigy seems intent on playing him as a crumbing forward where he doesnt look as comfortable as what he does when he plays off half back. Veszpremi would be better suited to that crumbing forward role that I believe we need especially with Porps pushing into the midfield more and knighta and Henderson being more half forward types. Can see vespremi sitting at tippett and walkers feet and being 30 - 40 goal crumber

I can assure you Adelaide wont be chasing Vesprezmi. I remember a few years back one of the Bigfooty regulars was all over him and I mentioned his name to one of our "officials" who said they thought he was a bit big around the shoulders and didnt think he was going to be suited to the modern game. That same 'official' is still inolved with the trading side of things.

Tambling played only 13 games this year. He has comprtment syndrome which is pretty much a permanent (gentic) condition. It means the fascia surrounding his calf muscles won't allow his calf muscles to expand beyond a certain amount resulting in chronic "shin splint" type pain. It doesn't go away, there is surgery (compartment release) but it rarely works.

anyway, of the 13 games he managed this year his disposal counts were, 12,16,9,12,7,16,13,12,15,13,15,12 and 11. Fairly average looking return for a supposed outside midfielder.

Compare that to say David Mackay who is a similar type of player. He only played 15 games this year due to injury and some say he had a poor year but his return was 20,21,26,19,15,24,27,22,4,20,18,20,20,17,14,15

and with Armstrong (most likely going to be) suspended at the start of next year, it may allow Petrenko to play down back.

...i can't imagine any team willing to pay a first rounder for Tambling. unless it was GC, because they have a ton of first round picks, but even then, he's not worth a first rounder.

I'm not sure they're expecting one as much as they are coming out early and "demanding" one so they don't look weak. Nobody walks into a negotiation and gives their best offer straight up front.

Naitawhoey (AKA Big Cox) is now reporting on the D&T board that Adelaide will be trading Griffin for Schammer in a direct swap.

I feel much better with BC reporting that. I now have 100% confirmation that no such trade is going to proceed in 2010 - and that's a good thing, as I have no interest in seeing Schammer on Adelaide's list in 2011 or at any time in the future.

Neil Craig loves those sort of players, workhorses with little talent, but please nooooo.

If true he would be worth a player and a first round draft pick. He kicked a bag of goals against us. He can play ruck/forward and if needed in defense.
I think Clarke might be used as a key forward to help out Pavlich. Trade wise I think the deal between Freo and Brisbane can be done if a third and possibly fourth party gets involved.

We should make it known we're going for him, even if we're not 100% committed, if for no other reason than to get the message through to Carlton that Sam Jacobs isn't the most talented ruckman available post season.
