Incredibly disappointing from the giants having Keefe ruck the end. He was gassed and didnt offer a thing.

infact, the entire team was. Who would have thought with a 6 day break. You can't make this s**t up. Move the game forward for Carlton tomorrow but make the Giants play in Adelaide at 7.50 when they knew they couldn't fly home that night. How can we contend with this bias.
AFL only cares about one thing. That's money. Money comes from the Victoria. Combine that with the clearly corrupt umpiring and you have a team (Giants..) that has been playing with one hand tied behind their backs all finals. It's a disgrace.

So guys opinions …. If we win tomorrow did the team we prefer win? I feel
The giants are the better team, mids
Run deeper but may have been gassed next week.
But Collingwood will Be sore with Mcstay out, Moore sore ankle too, Daicos looking under done.

WTF?

I suppose you are going to be delighted for Vossy if Carlton knock us off tomorrow.

Can't stand the ' i jUsT wAnT eVeRyoNe tO bE A wInNeR' attitude.

I want Carlton players to burst into tears tmrw night when they realise we're going into the GF and they're going to be sitting at home watching how an actual good team takes care of business, rather than a team of flukers who rely on the other team missing goals to progress thru finals.

I want them to watch our glory unfold.

When are opposition sides going to wake up that Collingwood’s main match-saving tactic is to just flop on the ball and instead of helping lock it in, just grab their jumper to either force them to knock the ball out or if they don’t, get a holding the ball free kick?

Genius of the Pies to realise umps won't blow the whistle in the last 90 seconds so they can bend the rules as they wish. Reckon they did it in another close game earlier this year as well.

Several of their close games last year ended with them just diving on the ball at stoppage to kill the clock.

Daicos still got 13 or so contested possessions didn't he ?

I would've much preferred to play the Giants. They would've been totally gassed next week.

The Pies have won games they probably should've lost and should be a lot fresher for next week.

Getting out of jail with all the emotional momentum they'll have ,they'll be very hard to beat next week.

I think we match up better against the Pies but based on tonight I think we would beat both.
Im not sure if Daicos is underdone or just doesn’t stack up in high pressure like tonight. Let’s not forget how he went against us earlier in the year and it’s not the only time he has been found out like that at times.

I didn't care who won the game and thought they were ok tonight.

They missed a few which you'd expect in a game like that.

24 free kicks total is far less than the amount of free kicks that should have been awarded. I know everyone wants the umpire to put the whistle away but I don't. I want infringements punished so we get a better, more open game.

That game was great because it was a prelim and had tension and some skilled players- if you take the same umpiring approach to a close one between norf and west coast I'd think the game stunk.

Will you still cheer for the lions next week if we make it?

Yes for me. I think we are better against the pies.

I dunno Tom.

I've been listening to supporters say the umpiring stinks since I was in short pants in the '60's.

The only time I notice really poor umpiring is when we get butchered. Same thing for decades.

Funny that.

I think the emotion will work the other way for pied. Only so many times you can drain the tank either from elation or devastation.

So far we have played and won without significant emotional consequences.

Think we will be business as usual, and pies will ride the waves. We just hold during their up wave and pounce as they ebb.

Eight goals is not enough to beat us. If we win tomorrow that is

I think it’s that a few really blatant frees were missed in that last quarter that stopped GWS having scoring opportunities. In a 1 point loss that is all it takes.

You might be right.

But it's all talk isn't it.

When the ball is bounced in the GF all the talk in the world counts for nothing.

But on paper we're in with a great chance this year.

Doesn't really bother me TBH. At the moment I just want us to make the GF, whoever we play will be tough because only the best two teams make it (usually, anyway). Giants worried me slightly more, probably because they're less of a known quantity

In a one point loss:
  • Callum Brown misses two gettable shots when he's usually a pretty good set shot.
  • Keeffe doesn't handball over the top to Greene to run into the goal.
  • Tom Green doesn't centre the ball to Giants outnumbering one or two Pies at the top of the goal square.
  • Bedford (?) and Riccardi playing on from a free kick and meandering themselves into trouble.
  • Greene going the dribble with a Magpie sitting in the goal square.
That's the crazy thing, the team in seventh had half a dozen or more chances to win that one at different points.

Well I'm not a numpty supporter that says we're going to obliterate them ,or think the umpiring's rigged , or the AFL has a hidden agenda.

We've got the best chance we've had in a long time.

2 more games to go.

I’m genuinely scared that you’re going to defect to Collingwood. Don’t you dare leave us

Commizzes dlanod

I see the bookies have us 1.38 tomorrow.

I stuck fat when we won 1 game in 3 years and looked forward to every game.

So nah . If we win it I'll be relieved and happy. If we lose just saddle up next year.
