The game is a joke when umpires put away the whistle and get caught up in the hype. Honestly, the AFL is amateur hour. So many blatant free kicks and 50s just ignored.
The umpiring in the last 10 minutes once Sydney had the run on was very poor.

Was that a blatant 50 to McStay right at the end ? Ran over the mark by a long way.

It wasn’t a 50. Basically explained it on fox footy - the defender ran through with momentum and responded when the umpire called him back. McStay played in before he got back on to his mark.

Last year's GF, umpires pay a controversial advantage in the few minutes. North game this year, 2 Collingwood players run way over the mark and don't retreat.
It's all part of the game until it affects them. LoL. 😭

Karma's a b!tch 🤷

LOL at McCrae having a whinge and moan about the non-50 metre penalty and the umpiring in general.

When everything was going their way, it was because of how they practice "scenarios" and never through rub of the green with umpiring and other freaky strokes of luck. EG the outrageous non-50 that robbed North of a win against them

Suck it up Pies

McCrae’s umpire complaint is very poor sportsmanship.
About five minutes before the McStay incident
Maynard deliberately took two steps to push the a Sydney shot for goal outside the fifty.
No penalty was called.
The umpire simply called him back.
Maynard’s infringement was deliberate and should have been pinged.
The Sydney defender was on the run and was umpired correctly.
I hope McCrae gets fined for this!

Sooooooo he admits officially that they have an advantage playing at the MCG especially in close games and that it affects the way the game is officiated... perhaps he should prove his altruism in this area (as opposed to highlighting any hypocrisy) by giving the 23 Flag to the Lions since the only reason Collingwood would have won was due to umpiring bias.

Or maybe just work out the home ground advantage of the MCG and give the opposition that much of a head start ... which come to think of it would kind of work to balance the neutrality the venue should have!
