I'm not following you.

But if you stop talking crap about my club I won't have any reason to notice your existence.

North have been begging for the last three seasons and I have been correct in predicting it again and again.

No I will not delete my account if they finally put some hard work in and stop crying to AFL house for charity.

You offered him 750 X3, he wanted 4 years and you told him to walk. He then got injured and signed at Melbourne for 4 years on less money.

Yes, you could have kept him for less than what he was asking.

No one would have blinked with you locking him in for 4 years - especially considering where you list is at.

A much better decision than over paying for blokes like CCJ
You should have a look at what Brown has achieved since he left us, flag aside. That contract would be a nightmare, especially with a year to go on $750K.

He should have signed the contract when he had the chance.

That's fine. The Hawf premierships of the mid 2000's certainly do, and if Collingwood wins this week theirs will as well.

We live in a compromised national competition. Every club receives advantages one way another, be it via fixture, academies, F/S picks, public boutique stadium pork spending, or just good old fashioned AFL favouritism.

If this is NMFC's asterisk, it's a good one to have.

Thats the right way to go about it honestly, its the most compromised sport in the world.

Just go with the flow.

Can only go on the info I have heard, 2 sources one is an employee at a non Victorian club.
Apparently WCE want to mitigate their risk on 1 pick and turn it into 3 picks with guaranteed 2 local players.
I think it’s smart.
I feel like West Coast have the opportunity to make a stand and they should. Again, nothing personal to North but the integrity of the competition is at serious risk.

For a couple of 2nd round picks?
Wait till I sit you down and explain what GCS are about to get this year, three years after their assistance package.

Yes, they were the old rules.

This is the current criteria

I’m not sure how ave 3 wins per year for 4 years confuses you so much
What do the old rules have to do with the new rules?

West Coast won a flag just 5 years ago and have been in 2 GF in the last 8 years.

They stuffed up with the Kelly trade and numerous long term deals to injury prone players.

You literally celebrate your own club tanking with your username and then think somehow anything you say to criticise some other club has any credibility. Maaate...

I'm not really a fan of this support, as I've said for ages. but the worst thing is no high picks to rub in your face. That would have been the only good thing about pick 3/4 or pick 11... well I spose the players would be nice.

Lol.

There aren't 2 local players projected to go top 20, only Curtin.

Maybe you should brush up on the draft before rolling out the troll account to bait people.

Just about the worst run and officiated professional sport in the world the AFL. Boggles the mind how much money the cretins that run this league get paid. Absolute thievery.
Yeah they even let obviously concussed players return to the field mid game. Who would have thought it was possible in this day & age with all we know about concussion?

The club I support doesn’t matter.

Once you get over that you will be less emotional and more willing to see the facts.

I am happy for you and your shiny new toys. But you’ll be back here doing the same dance in 12 months time.

They finished last. There is no other pre-requisite I’m aware of for a number 1 pick.

What do the old rules have to do with the new rules?

You were unsure of why north were entitled to afl draft assistance.

I posted information showing the lack of wins from north, and how under the old rules north would have got 4 * no 1 pick as a result.

You retorted with the old rules having nothing to do with it.

I posted the new rules.

And here we are

Yes, they're entitled to 'apply' for assistance.

Congrats, you've now received more PPs than any other club. It only took 3 years of begging to do so.

Honestly my view is that North have every right to ask but the AFL are completely undermining the draft and the entire concept of equalization because they don’t want to keep paying North’s debts. I feel for the fans but * me my team has NEVER won a premiership and gets nothing. No doubt our next window will be blocked by a supercharged North Melbourne with 20 top 5 picks on their list.
honestly I'm a little embarrassed but at the same time we've been screwed by the AFL with so many little things over the years that this is some sort of payback.

If we're lucky/good traders we'll get one top five pick out of this assistance tho. Nothing else really. Might upgrade 14 to four or five that's probably the extent of it tho.

We might trade a few players in i guess. Even Logue was a top 10 pick but players are like new cars. They lose their draft value as soon as they run out on field. And Freo certainly didn't value him.

All our other picks we got the old fashioned way. By being shit. (McKay compo might change that but ultimately he's leaving cos we're shithouse, and he can screw the comp for a huge payday. That probably helps.) It probably wasn't worth it cos the last four years sucked and we haven't done anything with it yet either.

Look your probably right, I think the AFL from my read (excuse the pun) don’t want to see another pick one leaving early after JHF that’s all.

I guess it detracts from the whole draft night promotion with the hype of the player being the club saviour and all.

Saying that I fear after one year he will be off to Collingwood or Essendon, can’t imagine he will love 4.40pm on a Sunday!

AFL give North a decent priority package, while ignoring WC.
Reckon there might have been a little deal behind closed doors on this. We'll give you these picks, but you have to trade at least one of the 1st rounders and a few other picks or players to WC for pick 1 (paying overs).

That way, the AFL & WC don't have to worry about Harley publicly knocking back going to WA (something he's probably already told them) and it also gives WC a bit of a package in a round about way.

Will be interesting to see how it unfolds.
